Route

  • Day 1 — Transfer: Irkutsk – Tazheranskaya Steppe - Talovskoye

    Tour guide and other tourists will be waiting for you at Irkutsk Airport.

    On our way from the airport we will turn to the history of Baikal land and will learn how to “burhan” – to cajole Baikal spirits.

    We will have lunch in the best place on our track – in “Yurta” Etno-Café. We will try dishes of traditional Buryat cuisine, including juicy buuzes, saguday melting in your mouth, rich buchleor and, of course, hot herbal tea.

    We will go jeeping over Tazheranskaya steppe where first indigenous people of Pribaykalye once lived heading to Talovskoye Hunting Estate. In Talovskoye we will stay in a cosy guest house where we will have supper, take a steam bath and go swimming in a dam of a mountain river.

  • Day 2 — Trekking from Talovskoye to Kurta

    Breakfast. Transfer to Buguldeyka settlement. Once upon a time Buguldeyka was an ancient Buryat ulus (settlement). Today it’s an excellent bay sheltering the place against strong Baikal winds.

    We will walk the Great Baikal Path rich with picturesque views over the legendary lake.

    We will arrange a tent camp and have supper at the fireside singing beloved songs.

  • Day 3 — Kurta – Cape Cherny

    We will have breakfast and return to the path. We will explore wild banks of Lake Baikal hearkening to measured splashing of water and enjoying the true beauty of nature.

    We will arrange a mobile banya (sauna) and relax after the long and eventful day. At last you will have an opportunity to plunge into invigorating waters of Lake Baikal!

  • Day 4 — Trekking from Cape Cherny –to Sukhaya Bay

    We will have breakfast and go on with our tour. Today we will climb a mountain with a promising name “Lokhmatka” (“Mop-head”) to enjoy views over most picturesque banks with bare rocks looming here and there.

    We will arrange a tent camp in the Sukhaya Bay – a quiet and secluded place with a long sandy beach, where we will have supper at the fireside. We invite everyone to swim in Baikal at night.

  • Day 5 — Trekking from Sukhaya Bay to Peschanaya Bay

    Breakfast. Morning Baikal meditation.

    We will move from the Sukhaya Bay to the Peschanaya Bay – one of the most renowned places on Lake Baikal. Hundreds of cubic meters of sand, trees on meter-long bare roots, rocks and turquoise water are all waiting for you!

    We will rest on the beach and walk to a scenic viewpoint on Bolshaya Kolokolnya Rock (optional).

    We will visit the most picturesque pavilion on Baikal, which as built on Bogatyr Rock dividing the Peschanaya Bay in two. Pictures in this pavilion are a must. Otherwise, it doesn’t count!

    In the evening you will be able to participate in a volleyball competition among tourists, or to go to a local club.   

  • Day 6 — Kayaking from Peschanaya Bay to Sredniye Khomuty

    Breakfast. After breakfast we will prepare our kayaks and train to control them in tandem with your partner.

    We are going to explore Lake Baikal from water – we will pop in grottoes and reach the rocks inaccessible by foot. We will see the famous Baklaniy Stone and Cedar Pass with our own eyes. Baikal seals might accompany us on our way – if the weather is good, they will keep popping from water.

    We will arrange our camp in the Sredniye Khomuty Bay. Supper and bedtime.

  • Day 7 — Kayaking from Sredniye Khomuty to Bolshoye Goloustnoye. Transfer to Irkutsk

    We will have breakfast and go on with our kayaking adventure moving toward Bolshoye Goloustnoye settlement widely known for its fierce winds and stormy waters. Do you best to reach the bank!  

    A microbus will meet us in Bolshoye Goloustnoye settlement and bring us to the hotel in Irkutsk. In the evening you will have free time to walk in Irkutsk returning to the civilized world and people and getting used to them anew, or having dinner is some fascinating place. Do not forget to promise to return here for new adventures!

Eco Centre Talovskoe

Surrounded by trees, this traditional hunting lodge is peacefully located in the Primorskiy Mountain Range. It offers a Russian sauna, children’s playground and spacious accommodations.
