We get acquainted with the guide and set off on our short but very vivid journey.
The day will be very busy, we will be on the road almost all day and arrive at the place of rest in the late afternoon.
Our first stop, not counting the sanitary ones, will be at the entrance to the Altai Republic.
Here we will see our beautiful Katun and find out what the composition symbolizes, set on the border of two Altai regions.
Having refreshed ourselves at lunch in the village of Karlushka, we go further along the Chui tract towards Mongolia (lunch is not included in the price).
The closer the Altai Mountains are, the more picturesque the surrounding views will be.
Before climbing to the Seminsky pass, we will slow down the speed to a complete stop.
Huge glades of blooming lights will delight us with their magical beauty.
And over the next 10 km, as we climb to the saddle, we will observe the change of the mixed deciduous pine forest with cedar.
At the top of the pass, we will be greeted by souvenir shops and stalls with a traditional assortment — honey, pine nuts, handicrafts and numerous souvenirs.
Leaving the purchase of gifts on the way back, we will take a short walk among the century-old cedars.
Be prepared: the mountain zone of the Seminsky pass is characterized by sharp temperature fluctuations and has a more severe climate than in the valleys.
Putting unnecessary thoughts out of our heads, let's breathe in the fresh and clean mountain air filled with the healing aromas of cedar and juniper.
After descending from the pass, we will get to the geographical center of the Altai Mountains.
We will stay overnight in Ongudai village, located in the valley of the Ursul River among the spurs of the Terektinsky ridge, at an altitude of 860 m above sea level.
After dinner (dinner is not included in the price), we will have evening gatherings around the campfire with legends and myths from our guide.
