18:00 The tour participants get acquainted with the expedition's team and staff, say goodbye to the "Land located at the edge of the world," and the ship sets sail for Antarctica.

Stormy winds are frequent "guests" here, causing seething on the sea surface. Our constant companions will be albatrosses.

When the ship passes through the Antarctic Convergence area, a sharp increase (up to several thousand) in the number of seabirds will become noticeable. What is the reason for this phenomenon? The answer to this question will be given by the lecturers who are part of the team. They will also tell you about other interesting facts.

On the way to Antarctica, travelers will constantly have various adventures waiting for them.

According to the expedition plan, from 5 to 9 days we will explore the South Shetland Islands and the Antarctic Peninsula. The distribution of the program by day is conditional and gives a general idea of what we plan to see and visit during these days.

The pack ice, which will thicken, will "inform" about the approach to the White Continent.

Here you can admire humpback whales swimming majestically in the ocean waters, and seals taking sun baths, comfortably located on the drifting ice.

Every day we will go "on land" in unexplored bays, visiting the penguin colony or visiting scientific stations.

The rest of the time, we will cruise among icebergs sparkling in different colors under the sunlight.

Thanks to the flexible route, we will be able to make optimal use of the climatic conditions.

The captain and the team leader, like the participants of the great expeditions of the past centuries, will choose the best course every day.

During the cruise we will be able to visit many interesting places.:

South Shetland Islands. Here we will be greeted by curious locals (Gentoo penguins and Antarctic penguins) who are not at all afraid of humans. On the way back to the liner, we will be guided by sea leopards and lions.

Tabarin Peninsula, Brown Bluff Mountain, or "Brown Cliff". This rock of volcanic origin, covered with ice, rises 745 meters high. It serves as a nesting place for gulls, petrels and Adelie penguins. Walking along the peninsula, you can see a lot of Weddell seals warming their backs in the sun.

Cooverville Island. This island, which looks like huge bare rocks, was discovered by a Belgian expedition at the end of the 19th century. But despite the "Spartan conditions", the local inhabitants – petrels and Gentoo penguins - feel great here. Sea leopards and Weddell seals swim in the waters surrounding the island.

Paradise Bay. The area amazes tourists with stunning and mesmerizing landscapes consisting of mountains, icebergs and an icy desert. Antarctica begins here. Sailing towards the continent, we will see the Brown science Station. After landing on the shore, we will go to look for Minke whales and crab-eating seals. We will be accompanied by experienced guides on this expedition.

Paulet Island. It is impossible to examine its surface due to the large colony of Adelie penguins. The island is inhabited by 90 thousand of these unique clumsy and cute birds. Such a sight can be seen extremely rarely, and it will be remembered for a long time. But that's not all the locals. There is a colony of blue-eyed cormorants on a nearby hill. There is also a hut here. The guide will inform you that members of the Swedish Nordenskiold expedition wintered there.

Petermann Island. After landing on the island, we will not be able to take our eyes off the breathtaking landscape, among which icebergs majestically drift and whales periodically surface. Here we will see cormorants, Adelie penguins and Gentoo.

The island of Captivity. It is located on the southern shore of the Lemaire Strait, also known as the "Valley of Icebergs". This place is considered the most colorful on the White continent. Tourists will be distracted from the polar fauna for a while, amazed by the amazing landscape, which consists of centuries-old ice and icebergs, which have bizarre shapes and are reflected in the water "mirror" of the ocean.

Deception Island, Whale Bay, Port Foster. This island was formed from an extinct volcano, the crater of which fell into the water due to the destruction of one slope. The only way to enter the bay is through a narrow passage called the "Neptune Bellows." Previously, a whaling station was located here, which is reflected in the name of the bay. And now there are visible fragments of boilers used for melting whale oil.

Gaudier Island, Port Lockroy. During the Second World War, a point was built on the island designed to intercept important information. Later, a scientific station was set up on the site of this point. Now there is a museum and a shop where you can buy souvenirs for yourself and friends. In addition, there is a British post office on the island, from where those who wish can send a postcard to relatives.

Gentoo penguins are calmly strolling around the station, not paying attention to people. Tourists like to photograph these inhabitants of Antarctica against the background of the British flag.

The liner is heading back. But that doesn't mean the adventure is over.

We will be able to continue observing the polar fauna, and the expedition team will offer exciting activities.
