Let's go to the homeland of the great scientist M.V. Lomonosov and admire the famous Dvinskaya embankment, on which all the ancient historical buildings of Arkhangelsk are concentrated.

Once in Maly Korely, we will find ourselves in Russia of the XVIII-XIX centuries: peasant huts, slender tent temples of Kargopol, Mezen, Pinega, Podvinya surrounded by a winter northern forest create a feeling of patriarchy and extraordinary peace.

We will also assemble an interactive model of the Project 971 nuclear submarine in a Museum submarine on our own.

Day 1 - Sightseeing tour of Arkhangelsk, "Arkhangelsk Gostiny Dvory"
Recommended arrival in Arkhangelsk before 10:00.

11:00 Sightseeing tour "Arkhangelsk — the capital of Pomerania".
Arkhangelsk is a city with a beautiful name, the first commercial seaport in Russia, founded at the end of the XVI century by decree of Ivan the Terrible.
On the shore of the Northern Dvina on the cape with the mysterious name "Pur-Navolok" you will learn about why the city was founded here and how it got its name, get acquainted with the centuries-old history: from the times when brisk trade was booming here, Peter the Great founded the first state shipyard and launched the first commercial the ship "St. Paul".
You will hear about famous people, about Arctic expeditions, the first of which set off from the docks of Arkhangelsk, about the sights located along the Embankment of the Northern Dvina.

15:00 Visit to the historical and architectural complex "Arkhangelsk Gostiny Dvory".
The Arkhangelsk Museum of Local Lore is one of the oldest museums in Russia: in 2022 it turned 185 years old.
The excursion "Meet Gostiny Dvor!" is a journey into the past, opening the pages of the history of Arkhangelsk and more than three hundred years of the history of Arkhangelsk Gostiny Dvor.
The merchant chambers of the Russian Gostiny Dvor of the XVII century and the ceremonial halls of the XVIII century house exhibitions and expositions.
The architectural dominant that historically forms the silhouette of the city, as well as many centuries ago, Gostiny Dvory are still a symbol of the city.

Day 2 - Excursion "Kholmogory and the homeland of Lomonosov", master class of bone carving

09:00 Country tour "Kholmogory and the homeland of Lomonosov".
A journey to the homeland of the great scientist, the "universal" man Mikhail Vasilyevich Lomonosov.
As part of the tour, we will visit ancient Kholmogory — a land with a rich history and culture, the territory of ancient fortresses, monasteries and temples, the first merchant shipyard and artful lace bone carving.
We will visit the Transfiguration Cathedral, see the "brainchild" of Archbishop Athanasius - the bell tower—observatory, learn the sad story of the Brunswick Imperial family and the Russian "man in the iron mask".
We will go along the ice crossing to the village of Lomonosovo, which is located on Kurostrov near the village of Kholmogory, where we will get acquainted with the village, visit the historical and memorial museum of M.V. Lomonosov.
At the master class of bone carving, we will learn the secrets of this amazing craft and try ourselves as a bone cutter, creating a memorable decoration with our own hands.

Day 3 - Severodvinsk, interactive program "Museum submarine". Jagra Island. The Northern Maritime Museum

09:00 Country tour "Severodvinsk — the city by the White Sea".
Sightseeing tour of Severodvinsk. Severodvinsk is the second largest city in the Arkhangelsk region, a hardworking city, an industrial and port giant.
Tourists will get acquainted with the history of the Russian submarine fleet during a city tour, and in the museum of local lore they will be able to "assemble a nuclear submarine."
The interactive program "Museum Submarine" includes interactive exhibits "Boat in a suitcase", "Variable buoyancy", "Salvo!", "Eyes and Ears".
You will have to create an interactive prefabricated model of the nuclear submarine project 971.
By assembling the "constructor", you will learn about technical solutions in the field of design and construction technology of nuclear submarines, about their internal structure and equipment of premises.
Transfer to the shore of the White Sea on the island of Jagra on the picturesque coast.
The southern coast of the Arctic, century-old pine trees in the vast white expanses and the icy hummocks of the White Sea will not leave anyone indifferent.
Return to Arkhangelsk.

The excursion "Ship's Solombala". You will sail through the ocean of ship information, plunge into the abyss of carpentry skills and get a lot of positive emotions! Solombala has always differed from Arkhangelsk in its originality and a special Pomeranian way of life.

Solombala is the cradle of the Russian navy, a favorite place of Peter the Great, the history of the Admiralty settlement, a place where the traditions of wooden shipbuilding are being revived and the Pomorsky Koch, a commercial Pomor vessel, is being built.

At the shipyard, you will see with your own eyes how modern craftsmen, using the techniques of wooden shipbuilding, recreate a ship of the pre-Petrine era! It was on these wooden ships that the state borders of Russia in the Arctic were described and fixed.

Excursion to the Northern Maritime Museum – the only Russian state maritime museum of scientific and technical profile. The museum is the keeper of material and spiritual values related to the maritime culture not only of the Russian North, but also of the whole of Russia, as well as the countries of the Barents Euro-Arctic region.

The exposition "The Millennium of Northern Navigation" will tell you about the history of northern shipbuilding, polar expeditions, icebreaking fleet and other milestones in the development of Arctic navigation. A special place is occupied by the history of the northern convoys during the Great Patriotic War.

And what a maritime museum without ship models! There are more than two dozen of them here – from models of three-masted sailboats of the XVII century to the famous "Saint Phokas", on which Georgy Sedov went to the North Pole.

The museum's collection includes Pomeranian gear, marine devices and instruments, nautical charts, as well as rare publications related to navigation.

Day 4 - The Museum of the Artistic exploration of the Arctic, a master class on painting "kozuli"

Visit to the museum and exhibition complex "Museum of the Artistic Development of the Arctic named after A.A. Borisov", where paintings by Alexander Borisov, the first Arctic artist who painted Arctic landscapes from nature, are presented. Borisov is a world–renowned painter, a student of I. Shishkin and A. Kuindzhi.
At the beginning of the twentieth century, exhibitions of Borisov's paintings enjoyed great success. The Arkhangelsk Museum has a unique collection of the artist's works: almost all the works with which Alexander Borisov triumphantly traveled through the cities of Europe and America at the beginning of the XX century are stored here.
Excursion "The mystery of the northern gingerbread" with a master class on painting the northern gingerbread - "kozuli". The name of the traditional gingerbread "goat" comes from the Pomeranian word for "curl", "snake". Arkhangelsk goat is flat, made of gingerbread dough, with white sugar and colored glaze.
Once gingerbread men in Arkhangelsk began baking goats two months before Christmas in molds made of iron, and in December they were painted with elegant sugars. Goats were given to children and used as decorations, and recipes were passed down from generation to generation.
A walk along the pedestrian Chumbarova-Luchinsky street.
Unique Pomeranian houses with carved architraves, elegant porches and bay windows, former merchant estates have been preserved here. There are numerous cafes and souvenir shops on the pedestrian street.

Day 5 - Pinezhye, caves, Krasnogorsk Bogoroditsky monastery

Walking along the ecological trail to the ice-free waterfall "Holy Spring" (about 1.5 km).
Through the most beautiful karst logs, through the dense taiga forest, we will go to the unique crystal waterfall, which does not freeze even in winter!
The small but powerful Holy Spring waterfall is so named because its waters were used by the monks of the Krasnogorsk Monastery.
The waterfall is an amazing creation of nature, the water in it is always the same temperature of 2-4 degrees and does not freeze even in the most severe frost!
Departure to Krasnaya Gorka to the Krasnogorsk Bogoroditsky Monastery (inactive).
Climbing the mountain, travelers can enjoy a majestic, breathtaking panorama of the Pinezhye.
You will find a fascinating story about Krasnaya Gorka, which several centuries ago was called Chernaya, because of the mountainous terrain and the gloomy forests surrounding it, and the unusual story of the foundation of a monastery here in the XVII century, famous for its miraculous icons, and the fact that at the beginning of the XVIII century it was often visited by Prince Golitsyn, exiled to Pinega, buried according to his will, in the monastery.
