    Sightseeing walking tour of Kargopol – a walk along the cozy embankment and ancient neighborhoods.

    The temple complexes amaze with their splendor, and local legends and legends immerse you in the distant past of the glorious northern city.

    Kargopol, formerly a famous trading city of the ancient Russian state, located at the very source of the Onega River, which originates from Lake Lache.

    The lands of the county stretched along the Onega River all the way to the White Sea. The passage of the transit salt route from Pomerania through Kargopol and the monopoly on salt trade granted by Ivan the Terrible contributed to the economic development of the city.

    Guided tour of the exhibition "Kargopolye since ancient times".

    The exhibition is dedicated to the history of the Kargopol fortress, featuring objects from the 17th century excavations, including weapons, cannons, and cannonballs.

    You will see a unique icon "Boris and Gleb on the background of the burning Kargopol fortress", painted in memory of the miraculous rescue of Kargopol from the fire.
