You will get acquainted with the fascinating history of Tsaritsyn-Stalingrad-Volgograd, learn about its unusual foundation on a river island, about the industry and trade of merchant Tsaritsyn, about the Battle of Stalingrad, a fundamental turning point in World War II, visit the House of Sergeant Yakov Pavlov, one of the bastions of soldiers' glory; Lenin Square; the ruins of Gergard's mill.
You will be told about modern Volgograd, the "dancing bridge", the famous high—speed tram, the monument to the patron saint of Volgograd and, of course, about the tallest statue of Russia - the sculptural composition "Motherland".
Visit to the panorama museum of the Battle of Stalingrad.
It consists of 8 exhibition halls, 4 dioramas, a triumphal, pre-panorama and panoramic halls, a cinema hall, and a military historical library.
The complex was built on the historical landing site of the 13th Guards Rifle Division of Major General A. I. Rodimtsev in September 1942. To the northeast of the Volga-Akhtuba floodplain is Bolshoe Bogdo Mountain and the salt lake Baskunchak. These unique natural sites are part of the Bogdinsk-Baskunchak Nature Reserve.
You will visit one of the most beautiful and unusual lakes in the world — the salt lake Baskunchak, which is famous for its salt, mud and waters of the "dead Sea".
Attention! Swimming in the lake is impossible without rubber slippers! The entire bottom of the lake is covered with sharp salt crystals! Take bathing accessories, a towel, rubber slippers, and a hat with you.

Day 5 - Sturgeon Farm — lotus fields
Important! A trip to the lotus fields/Volga Delta is available only to citizens of the Russian Federation — this is a border zone. It is mandatory to have a passport on the trip (original, paper copy or photo in your phone).

The base is located 70 kilometers from the city, on the picturesque bank of the Tabola River. It is truly a paradise with clear water and endless greenery.
At the pier, we transfer to boats and go to the recreation center, located in the rolling part of the Volga Delta, along the numerous channels of the Volga, admiring the wonderful landscapes.
A special gastronomic impression of this program will be a delicious fish lunch at the recreation center restaurant with delicious dishes: sturgeon ear, sturgeon steak with homemade potatoes, sliced vegetables, tea or compote, bread.
After lunch, a boat trip along the Volga Delta to the lotus fields begins (the time of the water tour to the lotuses and back is 1.5-2 hours).
You will have the opportunity to get to know the nature of the Astrakhan region better, see the picturesque landscapes, as well as the inhabitants of the Volga Delta (there are more than 300 species of birds here alone, and more than 100 of them are listed in the Red Books of various levels!).
The most attentive will be able to see the white-tailed eagle, count the number of heron species and make a wish for splashing fish.
In July and August, the period of lotus blossoming begins on the Caspian ridges, it is at this moment that the delta turns into one of the most unique corners of the world, because there is no such water area covered with lotuses anywhere else, and the area of lotus fields reaches 5,000 hectares!
If possible, swimming is organized on one of the islands in the rolling part of the Delta.

Day 6 - Elista is a pearl of the steppe

It takes 3-4 hours to get to Elista, but thanks to the interesting travel information from the guide, time flies by unnoticeably.
The amazing things will begin on the way: the endless steppe expanses, through which the Great Silk Road ran and the caravans of nomads traveled, pacify and help to tune in to the creative mood so characteristic of Buddhism.
It is this attitude that will allow you to fully enjoy the objects of a sightseeing tour of the city: the largest Buddhist temple in Europe, the Golden Abode of Shakyamuni Buddha, the Seven Days pagoda, the Dragon and Boy fountain, Druzhba Park, and also pass through the Altyn Bosch Golden Gate, believed to purify soul and thoughts.

Astrakhan region is located in a unique corner of nature: the place where the Volga River flows into the Caspian Sea. You will not be able to swim in the sea, because there is no coastline in the Astrakhan region, but you can swim in the warm waters of the great Russian Volga River. In addition, it is a region with a rich history, colorful multinational flavor and diverse gastronomy.

In the cafes and restaurants of the city, you can enjoy local cuisine (please note: drinking imported alcoholic beverages is strictly prohibited in all cafes and restaurants).

The time is +1 Moscow time. There is no TELE2 mobile operator in the region!

Urban public transport operates from 6.00 to 19.00-20.00 local time. The rest of the time, you can use taxi services, Yandex and Uber services operate in the region.

Astrakhan souvenirs.

The most common souvenirs from Astrakhan are, of course, fish delicacies and caviar. You can buy fish products for every taste and budget at the fish market. Please note that for the export of black caviar and valuable fish species (sturgeon), you must have a receipt confirming the purchase (in the absence of a receipt, the products have the right to confiscate).

The usual themed magnets, plates and Astrakhan-themed crafts are also sold there. Next to the fish market is the Mikhailovsky deli, where you can buy ready-made dishes of local cuisine. There is also an Aquarium store nearby, where you can buy fish snacks, canned food and other gastronomic specialties of the region.

Main attractions and activities.

Astrakhan Kremlin.

The central entrance to the Kremlin is located at 2/14 V. Trediakovsky St. Entrance to the Kremlin is free, opening hours are from 7.00 to 21.00.

Exhibitions are open in the Kremlin from May to September.

Theaters.

There are 4 theaters in Astrakhan: a drama theater, a puppet theater, a young spectator theater, and an opera and ballet theater. Tickets for productions of Astrakhan theaters can be purchased on the website www.kassir.ru .

Undoubtedly, the pearl of the theatrical life of the city is the Astrakhan Opera and Ballet Theater, which, in addition to bright productions, impresses with its beauty and scale, unique interiors made according to individual sketches, and the first mechanism for transforming the auditorium in Astrakhan.

Walking along the waterways of Astrakhan is one of the most sought-after activities of the city's guests.

From May to September, you can ride along the Volga River around Gorodskoy Island on a river tram.

In addition, trips on small trimarans and speedboats are offered on the Central Embankment.

The lotus blossom season attracts tourists to the Astrakhan region every year.

The Volga River delta is the only place in the world where there are hectares of lotus fields.

The first lotuses bloom in mid-July, but mass blooming is observed in August and early September.
