You will get acquainted with the fascinating history of Tsaritsyn — Stalingrad-Volgograd: learn about its unusual foundation on a river island, about the industry and trade of merchant Tsaritsyn, about the Battle of Stalingrad — a fundamental turning point in World War II, visit the House of Sergeant Yakov Pavlov — one of the bastions of soldiers' glory; on Lenin Square; at the ruins of Gergard's mill.

Visit to the panorama museum of the Battle of Stalingrad.
The panorama Museum consists of 8 exhibition halls, 4 dioramas, triumphal, pre-panorama and panoramic halls, a cinema hall, a military historical library. The complex was built at the historical landing site in September 1942 of the 13th Guards Rifle Division of Major General A. I. Rodimtsev.
With the help of AR technology, which allows us to "revive" the panorama museum's exposition, make it more dynamic and filled, thanks to augmented reality, we will immerse ourselves in historical events.

Departure for the excursion "Legends and traditions of old Tsaritsyn" to the southern districts of the city of Volgograd. The city is so rich in centuries-old events, legends, traditions and beliefs associated with it.
Our guide will tell you about the origin of the name of the Tsaritsa River, "Haunted Houses", about the life of Tsaritsyn merchants and patrons, about the history of "Tsaritsyn and Peter I", about the life of Tsaritsyn during the reign of Catherine II.
On the territory of the museum-reserve "Old Sarepta" you will learn about the European colonists in our city. The museum is unique for Russia and Europe, there are few similar architectural complexes in the world of the former Gerngut colony founded in 1765.
The museum-reserve includes: Freedom Square, the German church, the pastor's house, the house of the German colonist and the Goldbach house, which houses an exhibition of German crafts of Sarepta of the 18th and 19th centuries.
On the Krasnoarmeyskaya embankment, our staff will reveal to you the secret of the construction of the navigable "Volga-Don Canal named after V. I. Lenin" — the largest hydraulic engineering structure at the monument to V.I. Lenin with a height of 57 meters.

Day 3 - Baskunchak Lake and Sarai Batu

When leaving Volgograd, do not forget to set the clock. The time difference in Astrakhan is +1 hour by Moscow time.

To the northeast of the Volga-Akhtuba floodplain is the town of Bolshoe Bogdo and the salt lake Baskunchak.
These unique natural sites are part of the Bogdinsk-Baskunchak Nature Reserve. Visit one of the most beautiful and unusual lakes in the world — salty lake. Baskunchak, which is famous for its salt, mud and waters of the "dead sea".
Attention! Swimming in the lake is impossible without rubber slippers! The entire bottom of the lake is covered with sharp salt crystals!
Take bathing accessories, a towel, rubber slippers, and a hat with you. There is no rental of sun loungers and umbrellas on the lake shore.
In the bus parking lot, it is possible to rinse off after bathing in the shower stalls (additional fee — 100 rubles / person). From the parking place to the lake, walk about 1 km.

140 km above Astrakhan, the village of Selitrennoye (Kharabalinsky district of the Astrakhan region) stretches in the steppe.

Day 4 - Astrakhan

Day 5 - Sturgeon Farm — lotus fields
Breakfast at the hotel.
A gastronomic journey with a visit to the sturgeon farm, the road to which takes 40-50 minutes under the fascinating story of the guide. The tour takes place at one of the largest enterprises for the cultivation of sturgeon fish in the Astrakhan region.
You will get acquainted with various species of sturgeon, as well as the process of their reproduction. A special gastronomic impression of this program will be a delicious fish lunch in the restaurant with delicious dishes: sturgeon ear, sturgeon steak with homemade potatoes, sliced vegetables, tea or compote.

Upon arrival at the recreation center located in the rolling part of the delta, a water excursion begins, where you will have the opportunity to get to know the nature of the Astrakhan region, see picturesque landscapes, as well as the inhabitants of the Volga Delta (there are more than 300 species of birds alone, more than 100 of which are listed in the Red Books of various levels!).

In July and August, the lotus blossom period begins on the Caspian ripples and it is at this moment that the delta turns into one of the most unique corners of the world, because there is no such water area covered with lotuses anywhere else, and lotus fields reach 5,000 hectares!
For those who wish, if possible, swimming is organized on one of the islands in the rolling part of the Delta.
In their free time, a swimming pool and a recreation area are available on the territory of the recreation center for everyone, as well as the opportunity to fish from the bridges and catch the coveted trophy.

Day 6 - Elista is a pearl of the steppe

07:00 You will go on an excursion to the capital of Buddhism in Russia — the authentic Elista, the capital of the Republic of Kalmykia. The journey to Elista takes 3-4 hours, but thanks to the interesting travel information from the guide, time flies by unnoticed.
The amazing thing will begin on the road: the endless steppe expanses, through which the Great Silk Road ran and the caravans of nomads walked, pacify and help to tune in to the creative mood so characteristic of Buddhism.
It is this attitude that will allow you to fully enjoy the objects of a sightseeing tour of the city: the largest Buddhist temple in Europe, the Golden Abode of Shakyamuni Buddha, the Seven Days pagoda, the Dragon and the Boy fountain, Druzhba Park, and also pass through the Altyn Bosch — the Golden Gate, believed to purify soul and thoughts.

It will not work to swim in the sea, because there is no coastline in the Astrakhan region, but you can swim in the warm waters of the great Russian Volga River.
