Every tourist is obliged to:

Baikal freezes for a very long time. The first ice forms in early November in small bays and coves, and by about the beginning of January the Strait of the Small Sea freezes. The entire lake is covered with ice only by the end of January, so the Baikal ice season is short: from the beginning of February to the end of March.
