Day 1 - The road to Olkhon Island, Tazheran steppes
The place and time of the group's gathering: from the Angara hotel (Sukhbaatar str., 7, Irkutsk) in the period from 09.00 to 09.30 local time and from Irkutsk airport at 10.00.
Olkhon is a truly unforgettable and one of the most famous places on Lake Baikal, which is rightfully called a place of strength and especially powerful energy! Olkhon is considered a sacred territory, a concentration of shamanism in Central Asia. It is visited by pilgrims from all over the world. According to legend, Genghis Khan is buried here.
You will leave Irkutsk approximately at 10 a.m. The path will run through an area with picturesque views. The road will partially pass through the Tazheran steppes, decorated here and there with rocky remnants. Guests often refer to this segment of the journey as the "Martian" one. Landscapes really transport you to some kind of alien reality!
Olkhon is an island and they get to it through the Olkhon Gate Strait. After the crossing, you will find about 40 km more along the steppes of Olkhon, and after that you will reach the center of the island – the village of Khuzhir.
In the evening, you have free time, which you can spend exploring the surroundings of the village. Within walking distance from the hotels on Olkhon is the business card of Lake Baikal — Cape Burkhan and Shamanka rock. Shamanka is included in the list of attractions of the Baikal National Park. In January, the ice is already rising at the cliff.
Next to the Shaman are the sacred pillars of Serge. If desired, you can tie a ribbon and make a wish. We will tell you how to do this correctly so that wishes come true.
After enjoying the beautiful views, imbued with the energy of the sacred place, your first day of travel is coming to an end. Tomorrow you will have an even closer acquaintance with Lake Baikal and Olkhon.

Day 2 - Tour of the south of Olkhon Island (by land)
In the morning, after breakfast, we meet with the group and go on an excursion. It starts at 10.00, the duration is about 5-6 hours.
The route of this excursion runs through the southern steppe part of the island. You will be amazed at how many surprises are hidden in a seemingly homogeneous steppe. Sometimes you can meet a herd of wild horses on the way. At the observation deck "Polevoy Stan" you will have a panoramic view of the village of Khuzhir and all the local beauties.
After that, you will go to Hankhoi Lake, also known as Yalga Lake. It is a small lake separated from the Small Sea by a sandy spit. In winter, the surface of the lake is covered with ice with bubbles.
Very close to the lake there is a "Rock Garden" — a place that attracts tourists with its mysterious atmosphere, a remarkable feature of which is large and small piles of stones protruding from the ground, stacked in a kind of turrets.
Next you will see a lonely birch tree on the Olkhon. At first glance, it's a completely ordinary place. But this is only at first glance! This is a unique natural monument, which is also associated with a legend. You will learn it during the tour, let's keep the intrigue for now!
Further, the tour program includes a visit to high rock formations in the steppe, called "Trident" or "Castle Ruins". Be sure to try to climb them: you will have a view of the steppe, and on the other side of Lake Baikal. You will feel the power of this place, the vastness of space. And here you get especially great photos!
In the middle of the day, you will have a hearty picnic lunch in the fresh air, and the tour will end with a view of the Big Sea and return to Khuzhir.

Day 3 - The Small sea on Khivus. The road to Irkutsk
In the morning after breakfast, we meet with you and go to explore the Small Sea of Lake Baikal and the winter wonders hidden there. This morning will be the final one on the island of Olkhon, in the evening we will be back in the city of Irkutsk.
The tour will start in the early morning, you will travel on the safest transport for movement on the ice – on Khivus. This is a hovercraft that can move both on ice and on water. In January, Lake Baikal is just getting ready to receive guests who do not travel as much as in February and March, icicles and splashes have recently formed and delight their guests with untouched novelty and beauty.
The Small Sea is a part of Lake Baikal, conditionally separated from the Big Sea by the island of Olkhon. Today you will visit one of the most beloved places by tourists on Lake Baikal – the uninhabited island of Ogoy. Ogoy Island is the largest island in the Small Sea with a length of 3 km, the second largest after Olkhon Island. The most frequently photographed and recognizable place on the island is the sacred Buddhist Stupa of Enlightenment. Many people come to Lake Baikal only for the sake of visiting this place – to purify themselves and recharge their spiritual energy. And there is also a belief that if you walk around the stupa 3 times and make a wish, it comes true.
Olkhon Island itself is also known for the picturesque Cape Dragon, decorated with ice splashes in winter. We will definitely make a stop here to take a walk and take pictures.
After that, ice caves and rocks decorated with ice floes and splashes await us. This is a real fairy tale, a Baikal winter miracle! We recommend taking a portable charger with you – it will be so beautiful that you will want to take off every centimeter!
After the tour, there will be a picnic lunch when you go back to the city of Irkutsk, where you will stay in a hotel.
