Day 1 - The road to Olkhon Island, Tazheran steppes
The place and time of the gathering of the group: from the Angara hotel (Sukhbaatar St., 7, Irkutsk) in the period from 09.00 to 09.30 local time and from Irkutsk airport at 10.00.
Olkhon is a truly unforgettable and one of the most famous places on Lake Baikal, which is rightfully called a place of power and especially powerful energy! Olkhon is considered a sacred territory, the concentration of shamanism in Central Asia. It is visited by pilgrims from all over the world. According to legend, Genghis Khan is buried here.
You will depart from Irkutsk at approximately 10 a.m. The path will run through an area with scenic views. Part of the road will pass through the Tajeran steppes, decorated here and there with rocky remnants. Guests often refer to this segment of the journey as the "Martian" one. Landscapes really transport you to some kind of alien reality!
Olkhon is an island and they get to it through the Olkhon Gate Strait. After the crossing, you will find about 40 km more along the steppes of Olkhon, and then you will reach the center of the island – the village of Khuzhir.
In the evening, you have free time to spend exploring the surroundings of the village. Within walking distance from the hotels on Olkhon is the calling card of Lake Baikal — Cape Burkhan and Shamanka rock. Shamanka is included in the list of attractions of the Baikal National Park. In January, the ice is already rising near the cliff.
Next to the Shaman are the sacred pillars of Serge. If desired, you can tie a ribbon and make a wish. We will tell you how to do this correctly to make your wishes come true.
After enjoying the beautiful views, imbued with the energy of the sacred place, your first day of travel is coming to an end. Tomorrow you will get an even closer look at Lake Baikal and Olkhon.

Day 2 - Tour of the south of Olkhon Island (by land)
In the morning, after breakfast, we meet with the group and go on a guided tour. It starts at 10.00 a.m. and lasts about 5-6 hours.
The route of this excursion runs through the southern steppe part of the island. You will be amazed at how many surprises the steppe, which is homogeneous at first glance, hides. Sometimes you can meet a herd of wild horses on the way. On the observation deck "Polevoy Stan" you will have a panoramic view of the village of Khuzhir and all the local beauties.
After that, you will go to Khankhoi Lake, also known as Yalga Lake. It is a small lake separated from the Small Sea by a sandy spit. In winter, the surface of the lake is covered with ice with bubbles.
Very close to the lake is the "Rock Garden", a place that attracts tourists with its mysterious atmosphere, a notable feature of which is large and small piles of stones protruding from the ground, stacked in a kind of turrets.
Next, you will see a lonely birch tree on Olkhon. At first glance, it's a completely ordinary place. But this is only at first glance! This is a unique natural monument, which is also associated with a legend. You will learn it during the tour, let's keep the intrigue for now!
Next, the tour program includes a visit to the high cliffs in the steppe, called "Trident" or "Castle Ruins". Be sure to try to climb them: you will have a view of the steppe, and on the other side of Lake Baikal. You will feel the power of this place, the vastness of the vastness. And here you get especially great photos!
In the middle of the day, you will have a hearty picnic lunch in the fresh air, and the tour will end with a view of the Big Sea and a return to Khuzhir.

Day 3 - The Small sea on Khivus. The road to Irkutsk
In the morning, after breakfast, we will meet with you and go explore the Small Sea of Lake Baikal and the winter wonders hidden there. This morning will be the final one on the island of Olkhon, in the evening we will be back in the city of Irkutsk.
The tour will start early in the morning, and you will travel on the safest transport for traveling on ice – the Khivus. It is a hovercraft that can travel on both ice and water. In January, Baikal is still preparing to receive guests, there are not as many travelers as in February and March, icicles and splashes have recently formed and delight their guests with their untouched novelty and beauty.
The Small Sea is a part of Lake Baikal, conditionally separated from the Big Sea by the island of Olkhon. Today you will visit one of the most popular tourist destinations on Lake Baikal – the uninhabited island of Ogoy. Ogoy Island is the largest island in the Small Sea, 3 km long, and the second largest after Olkhon Island. The most frequently photographed and recognizable place on the island is the sacred Buddhist Stupa of Enlightenment. Many people come to Lake Baikal just for the sake of visiting this place – to purify themselves and recharge their spiritual energy. There is also a belief that if you walk around the stupa 3 times and make a wish, it comes true.
Olkhon Island itself is also known for the picturesque Cape Dragon, decorated with ice splashes in winter. We will definitely make a stop here to take a walk and take pictures.
After that, ice caves and rocks decorated with ice floes and splashes await us. This is a real fairy tale, a Baikal winter miracle! We recommend taking a portable charger with you – it will be so beautiful that you will want to take off every inch!
After the tour, there will be a picnic lunch, when you will set off on your way back to Irkutsk, where you will stay in a hotel.
