Itinerary

Day 1 - Makhachkala
Meeting at the airport and at the railway station of Makhachkala until 14:30.
Sightseeing tour of Makhachkala.
Accommodation at the hotel.
At 19:00 welcome dinner with national cuisine in the Caucasian restaurant.

Day 2 - Sulak Canyon
A trip to the Sulak Canyon.
On the way we will visit:
Chirkeyskoye reservoir;
An observation deck overlooking the canyon;
Chirkeyskaya HPP.
Lunch at the Glavryba campsite.
Here you can try freshly caught trout.
Let's take a boat ride along the Sulak Canyon.
A visit to the Sarykum dune is the largest sand dune in Europe.
Return to the hotel in Makhachkala.

Day 3 - Derbent
An excursion to the ancient city of Derbent.
We will visit:
Naryn-kala Fortress;
Old Town;
Derbent Juma Mosque;
Armenian Temple A saint The Savior of the 19th century;
Ekranoplan Lun.
Return to the hotel in Makhachkala.

Day 4 - Gunib
A trip to the mountainous part of Dagestan – to the village of Gunib.
The road will pass through the Gimrinsky tunnel, which is the longest tunnel in Russia with a length of 4,303 m.
On the way to We will visit Gunib:
Irganai reservoir;
Saltinsky underground waterfall, a path leads to the waterfall through a narrow gorge 500 m long.
Arrival in Gunib, accommodation at the hotel.
Visit to the fortress of Imam Shamil and the Upper Gunib Nature Park.

Day 5 - Gamsutl
Departure to the ghost village of Gamsutl is an abandoned mountain village founded according to some sources 2000 years ago.
The village is located on the top of the mountain, so you will have to walk to it along a 4 km mountain trail.
The road to Gamsutl is very picturesque, and fantastic views open from above.
Lunch in the mountains.
Departure and arrival in Makhachkala.
The end of the tour.
Transfer to the railway station at 18:30.
Transfer to the airport at 19:30.

The ascent to Gamsutl involves a drop-off by car and a walking route. In the parking lot, local residents provide drop-off services on mountain transport (UAZ, Niva). You can drive by car for about 1.5 km, and at this moment the steepest part of the climb is overcome. The cost of the service is 100-200 rubles / person in one direction. From the car stop, the path to the end of the route will be 1.8 km, the height difference is 1450-1670 m.
