Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival. Makhachkala Sightseeing Tour
Meeting at the airport and railway station of Makhachkala until 14:30.
Accommodation at the hotel.
Sightseeing tour of Makhachkala.
At 19:00 welcome dinner with national cuisine at the Caucasian restaurant.

Day 2 - Sulak Canyon
We will visit:
Chirkey reservoir;
an observation deck overlooking the canyon;
Chirkeyskaya HPP.
Lunch at the Glavryba campsite, where you can try freshly caught trout.
Let's take a boat ride through the Sulak Canyon.
Visit Sarykum dune, the largest sand dune in Europe.
Return to the Makhachkala hotel.

Day 3 - Tour to the ancient city of Derbent
We will visit:
Naryn-kala Fortress;
Old Town;
Derbent Juma Mosque;
Armenian temple The Saint The Savior of the 19th century;
The Lun ekranoplane.
Return to the Makhachkala hotel.

Day 4 - Trip to the mountainous part of Dagestan: Gunib village
The road will pass through the Gimrinsky tunnel, which is the longest tunnel in Russia with a length of 4,303 m.
On the way to We will visit Gunib:
Irganai reservoir;
Saltinsky underground waterfall, a path leads to the waterfall through a narrow gorge 500 m long.
Arrival in Gunib, accommodation at the hotel.
Visit the fortress of Imam Shamil and the Upper Gunib Nature Park.

Day 5 - Gamsutl. Departure
Departure to Gamsutl ghost village is an abandoned mountain village founded, according to some sources, 2000 years ago.
The village is located at the top of the mountain, so you will have to walk to it along a 4 km mountain trail.
The road to Gamsutl is very picturesque, and there are fantastic views from above.
Lunch in the mountains.
Departure and arrival in Makhachkala.
Transfer to the railway station at 18:30.
Transfer to the airport at 19:30.

Guided tours for the whole day, departure approximately at 08:00-09:00 in the morning, return to the hotel by 19:00. There will be several long bus rides, up to 4 hours on the way. The tour program also includes a short hike to the ghost village of Gamsutl. It is located on a mountain, the way to it is 4 km. You will have to walk uphill along the mountain path, and then descend.
