New Year's holidays in Crimea. Balaklava and Sevastopol

New Year holidays in Crimea are the best thing that can happen to you this winter! Winter in Crimea is soft, gentle, enveloping in a weightless snow–white blanket.

At this time, you can visit cave towns, luxurious ancient palaces, drowning in evergreen conifers, trekking through ascetic monasteries, formidable fortresses and beautiful Crimean beaches.

Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Meeting, Inkerman Cave Monastery, Kalamita Fortress

11:30 a.m. The instructor meets the group at the railway station in Simferopol.

12:00 Gathering of the group at the airport in Simferopol.

Transfer by bus to Sevastopol (2 hours).

    Inkerman Cave Monastery, Kalamita Fortress.

The New Year's trip to Crimea begins from the city of Simferopol, then the group will travel by bus to Sevastopol. But it will not be boring on the way – on the way we will meet the amazing rock monastery Inkerman and the ancient fortress of Kalamita.

St. Klimentovsky Cave Hermitage is a legendary place in Crimea.

Almost all the cells of the monastery are located in the rock – only the active Trinity Church is on the surface.

Trekking also includes a visit to the Kalamita Fortress, an echo of the long–vanished principality of Feodoro. It was periodically conquered by foreigners, so the citadel has reached fragmentary times.

Amid the ringing silence, guests of the Crimea can hardly believe that active trade once flourished here, deals were made, and life was raging.

Now the regularity of eternity has settled in these mountains forever.

The active part of the tour: 2.4 km on foot, altitude difference of 20-70 m, trekking duration – 2 hours.

Tour organizer's comments

The route is recommended for beginners.

The route is trekking. Trekking is walking through mountainous (rugged) terrain. This type of active recreation involves daily climbing and dropping heights (ascents and descents).
The route runs along forest trails and dirt roads. The routes will have an altitude difference of 50 to 350 m per day.

Climbing up 350 m is about like climbing 110 floors.

In Crimea, on New Year's Eve, the air temperature ranges from 0 ... to +12C.

A comfortable set of clothes for trekking in the Crimea at this time: trekking boots (not insulated), long johns (the lower part of the thermal underwear), walking pants (not insulated), T-shirt, fleece, vest, jacket at a temperature of +8...+12C.
Depending on the weather, you have to undress or get dressed on the route. We often carry a jacket in a backpack, so take a backpack with a volume of 25-35 liters.

  • Hat, gloves
  • Hooded jacket at a temperature of +8...+12C
  • Fleece (2 pieces). One fleece is for walking on the route (it gets a hiking smell quickly enough), the second clean and fresh fleece is for walking in the hotel
  • Short Sleeve T-shirt
  • Running pants are not insulated
  • Down vest or with synthetic insulation
  • For girls on request: a dress for a photo shoot on the background of mountains
  • Lingerie
  • Socks
  • Thermal underwear
  • Buff. It is convenient to use in winter instead of a scarf, which is too hot at this time
  • Swimsuit (for sauna and swimming pools)
  • Trekking boots are not insulated or sneakers with thick soles
  • Flip-flops (for walking in the hotel)
  • Waterproof clothing or raincoat
  • Tracking sticks. Sticks significantly reduce the load on the knees. Physically strong and healthy tourists are recommended to have sticks with them. Tourists who have problems with knees, joints and overweight must have trekking poles

Also in the backpack there is always a thermos, a mug and public products for lunch, which are issued by the instructor (the weight of the products is 400-600 grams)
  • Podpopnik
  • Thermos (volume 0.5-0.75 liters per person) and a non-breaking mug (if you have a thermos without a convenient drinking mug)
  • 0.5L plastic bottle (for drinking water on the route)
  • Lantern. It gets dark early in winter. If we want to spend an evening at the sea, then a flashlight will be useful

The trip to Baikal was a success! The organization of the tour was impeccable. Thanks to the manager in the Big Country Yulia Trubinova. All the planned trips were at a good level, the accommodation also corresponded to the promised, i.e. with all amenities. Many thanks to our instructor of the Voskhod tour club - Alexey Dusenko and all the participants of the tour. Thanks to them, the tour turned out to be very interesting, rich and diverse for me. Of course, Baikal must be seen firsthand, photos and videos will only remind you of these days, and will not convey all the beauty! It is also remarkable that we were very lucky with the weather. The sun was shining, the ice shone like crystal. I am very glad that I was lucky enough to see all this and meet such wonderful people!
