Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival. Boats, Sarykum dune and Chirkey reservoir
At Uytash Airport: at 7:00 (for those arriving on the first day of the tour).
We recommend choosing a flight before 6:00 a.m., so you won't be late because of the delay.
In Makhachkala: at 8:00 at the southern bus station (344 Amet Khan Sultan Street) — for those who arrived in advance.
We begin our fabulous journey through Dagestan.
The Sarykum sand dune is a unique desert in the heart of the Caucasus: the largest sand dune in Europe and one of the largest in Eurasia.
We advise girls to take bright outfits — here you get really spectacular photos!
Lunch at Glav Rybe, the best trout farm in the republic, located near the turquoise Sulak River.
The freshest trout is waiting for you (optional — lamb, beef or chicken kebab).
In Dagestan, a guest is always greeted with bread and treats!
A boat trip along the Chirkeysky reservoir (for an additional fee) is one of the most vivid impressions of the tour!
We will sail through the reservoir, feeling the freshness of the spray and the power of nature.
Sulak Canyon is the hallmark of Dagestan and the deepest canyon in Europe (1920 m deep, more than 53 km long).
The Hadum observation deck (Dubki village, 860 m above sea level) is the best point for a panoramic view of the canyon and turquoise water.
Mother—in—Law's Tongue is an extreme observation deck on the edge of a cliff overlooking the beginning of the canyon and the Chirkeyskaya hydroelectric power station, the tallest arched dam in Russia.
The Chirkeyskoye reservoir is the "Chirkeyskoye Sea," as the locals call it.
The depth is 220 m, the area is 42 km2.
It is here that we will meet the sunset with new friends.
Accommodation — at the Sea of Stones hotel: cozy rooms among the mountains, clean air and full immersion in nature.
On-site facilities include a cafe, kitchen, hot/cold water, relaxation areas and free Wi-Fi.
Dinner is a national dish right in the complex.
And after that, a campfire gathering: communication, games and exciting legends from the guide.

Day 2 - Gamsutl ghost village, underground waterfall and Chokh terraces
Dagestani breakfast at 8:00 — and off we go!
We leave our suitcases in the rooms, and we only take a light backpack for trekking.
Gamsutl is the "Dagestan Machu Picchu", the oldest settlement in Russia at an altitude of 1,500 m.
At the foot of the mountain, we will transfer to UAZ trucks, and walk for the last 40 minutes to truly experience the atmosphere of this place.
Lunch is hearty and varied: shish kebab, pilaf, botishal, lagman, tea, compote and slicing.
Chokh terraces are the cradle of terrace farming in the Caucasus.
It is here that the guide will brew you a fragrant coffee with a view of the endless mountain landscapes.
The Saltinskaya Gorge is a 500 m long natural corridor.
First it's spacious, then it gets narrower and narrower... until the walls rise 15 meters!
And suddenly — an underground waterfall hidden in the heart of the rock.
The underground waterfall has been a natural monument since 1983, a 20—meter wonder that all travelers dream of.
Dinner at a local restaurant with new national dishes.
The evening is optional: again around the campfire, drinking games and warm communication.

Day 3 - Gunib, lighthouse, museum
The path starts from Aivazovsky point — you come to the edge of the cliff, and a breathtaking panorama opens up in front of you: three mountain ranges, a deep gorge and a river shimmering in the sunlight.
In the distance there are snow—white peaks, as if floating above the ground.
A little higher is the lighthouse.
This is a place of power: wind, height, freedom.
His fire does not show the way to ships, but preserves the memory of those who defended these lands.
Even during the day, he seems to be a quiet keeper of history.
It's the perfect place to stop, take a photo, and feel like you're part of something great.
Then there is a short walk to Shamil's gazebo.
A simple wooden platform on the edge of a cliff, but every second here is filled with meaning.
It is believed that it was from here that the imam last looked at his native mountains.
Many of the guests here fall silent — not from words, but from feelings.
We climb to Tsarskaya Polyana, a bright, open space among the rocks.
In summer, rare flowers bloom here, herds graze, and the air is filled with silence and the scent of mountain herbs.
It was in this clearing in 1859 that two destinies came together — the tsar and the imam.
After that, the local museum of local lore, small but real.
There are no cold storefronts here — only living stories: daggers, saddles, wedding dresses, vintage photographs.
All this will be told to you by a local resident, a person for whom Gunib is not just a place of birth, but a part of the soul.
Between locations, we will have lunch at Aunt Patimat's, which is cozy and warm at home.
Her house seems to embody the very hospitality of Dagestan.
On the table there is everything that is dear and delicious: hot miracles, fragrant broth with khinkal, tender homemade mutton.
And at parting — strong tea with local sweets.
This route is not just a list of places.
It's a day filled with sights, meanings, and sincere warmth.
Then return to the hotel and have dinner.

Day 4 - Khunzakh Waterfalls, Stone Bowl and Matlas Extreme Park
Breakfast at 8:00.
The Khunzakh plateau (1,700 m above sea level) is a place where nature seems to paint pictures.
Silver waterfalls flow here, and ancient villages hide among the rocks.
The Itlyatlyar waterfall is one of the highest in Russia (up to 100 m).
Tobot Waterfall is the most beautiful waterfall in Dagestan, a 70—meter cascade of many streams.
Lunch — tasting of 5 national dishes of Avar cuisine and the famous apricot porridge for dessert!
Matlas Extreme Park is the perfect place for Instagram photos and adrenaline rush.
We will take a walk under the Khan Waterfall, and those who wish will take a ride on a zipline (700 m, 1,500 rubles).
The stone bowl is a natural hall inside the rock, where the "ceiling" is the open sky.
To get inside, we will walk along a narrow corridor and find ourselves in a real natural cathedral.

Day 5 - "The Troll's Tongue", Karadakh gorge and Goor village. Departure
Breakfast at 8:00 — and we're off on one of the most spectacular days of the tour!
The Karadakh gorge is the highest mountain in Russia (170 m high, 2-4 m wide).
We will walk along the stairs suspended by bridges, admiring the bends of the rocks and the play of light in a narrow gorge.
Goor is a living mountain village with legendary towers.
With a local guide, aksakal, we will climb the observation decks, hear ancient legends and see how the mountaineers lived for centuries.
The Troll's Tongue is a 5—meter rocky outcrop above a precipice overlooking the valley of the Avar Koisu.
Here you will have a photo shoot in national costumes and hats — on the edge of a cliff, with dizzying panoramas!
Datun Temple is the oldest Christian church in Dagestan (11th century), built by Georgian missionaries.
The temple is perfectly preserved and stands in a picturesque gorge, as if it had stepped out of a painting.
Lunch at the Goor — in the ethno-house with the opportunity to try your hand at cooking dishes according to ancient recipes.
The program ends at 16:00 in Goor.

to the airport (we recommend booking a flight after 19:00);
to Makhachkala (southern bus station) — for those who stay in Dagestan.

It's important to know

Comfortable clothes for trips to the mountains: tracksuits, jeans, trousers, dresses, skirts, sweatshirts and jackets, but not short, not tight (necessarily below the knee. Knees and shoulders should be covered);
comfortable and durable shoes. Heels, urban shoes, which you are sorry to get dirty / scratched, do not fit. The best choice is sneakers, sneakers or athletic sandals.;

raincoat, as the weather in the mountains is very changeable;

In addition to the excellent organization of every aspect of the tour, what really stood out were the people running it. We had two guides - Omar, who is experienced, incredibly positive, and very friendly - and Shamil, who is younger but just as positive, supportive, and enthusiastic. It’s hard to imagine more welcoming people. They always listened to our wishes, supported us, answered all our questions, and helped with anything that came up. The whole experience felt less like a typical tour - and more like traveling to the mountains with friends :) From the bottom of my heart, I’d like to say that these people truly set an example of kindness and hospitality. I sincerely wish them continued success - they treat their guests with the same warmth and positivity with which this review is written.
