Day 1 - With the breeze on the boat
Airport pick-up: at 7:00 Uytash Airport, this pick-up point is suitable for you if you arrive on the first day of the tour (I recommend choosing arrival before 6:00 so that flight delays do not affect the tour program).
Meeting in Makhachkala and start of the tour: at 8:00 a.m. at the southern bus station, 344 Amet Khan Sultan St., this pick-up point is suitable for those who arrived in Dagestan in advance.
The program of the day:
The Sarykum dune is a Dagestan desert, one of the largest sand dunes in Eurasia and the largest dune in Europe. I advise the girls to take their best outfits for spectacular shots. We'll visit a mini-desert, run along the sand and get a boost of energy from the local environment.
Lunch at Glavryb, an eco–tourism complex, the best trout farm in Dagestan, located on the banks of the turquoise Sulak River. In Dagestan, it is customary to feed the guest first, it is in Glavryb that we will taste fresh trout, which will lick your fingers (those who wish can replace it with lamb, beef or chicken kebabs).
Canyon boats are my favorite, and we'll take a breeze ride through the canyon itself and sail under the most beautiful waterfalls of Sulak. To go boating in the canyon, you need to go down by jeep from Glavryba along the beautiful road along the canyon itself to the river pier in Zubutli village.
Sulak Canyon is the hallmark of the Republic of Dagestan, the deepest canyon in Europe, with a depth of 1920 m. The length is more than 53 km.
The Hadum observation deck is the most popular observation deck located in the village. Oak trees at an altitude of 860 meters above sea level. Climbing the highest observation deck of the canyon, we will admire the turquoise waters and enjoy the power and beauty of the canyon.
The mother–in-law's Tongue observation deck is a rocky outcrop overlooking the beginning of the canyon and the Chirkeyskaya Dam, which is the largest arched platinum in Russia. This viewing room is suitable for fans of extreme sports and thrills.
The Chirkey reservoir is the largest reservoir in the North Caucasus, formed on the Sulak River, with a depth of 220 m and an area of 42 t. sq. km. We will find ourselves on this observation deck, where we will have time to spend the sunset with our loved ones and new friends. The locals call it the Chirkei Sea.
After all the adventures and cultural delights, we are going to stay in the legendary barn house - these are modern and cozy houses among high mountains and cliffs.
The territory has all the amenities: a cafe, a kitchen, hot and cold water, relaxation areas and free wi-fi.
Dinner – after the accommodation, we will have dinner in the complex itself, a dinner of local national dishes.
After dinner, you will have the opportunity to gather around a campfire in a specially equipped place and continue communication and acquaintance, as well as listen to the legends from the guide.

Day 2 - Gamsutl ghost village, underground waterfall, Saltinsky gorge, Chokh terraces, Gunib, coffee break in the mountains
In the morning at 8:00 breakfast in Dagestan, and immediately to the mountains.
There are a lot of interesting and unusual things waiting for us on this day. You can leave your suitcases in the rooms, and take some things with you for easy trekking in the mountains.
The ghost village of Gamsutl, also known as Dagestan Machu Picchu, one of the most ancient populations of Russia, is located at an altitude of 1,500 m and impresses with its uniqueness, architecture and location.
First of all, while it's not hot yet, we will head to Gamsutl, at the foot of the mountain we will transfer to UAZ trucks and drive as close as possible to the ghost village, we will walk the rest of the way (walk about 40 minutes), (you can also ride 1000 rubles).
Lunch – after we go down, a delicious and hearty lunch awaits us downstairs; shish kebab, pilaf, botishal and lagman (as well as tea, slicing and compote).
Chokh terraces are artificially created terraces for growing grain crops, it is believed that it was here that the terrace culture was born, the cultivation of the land.
This place is perfect for coffee, which the guide will brew right in front of you with a view of the beautiful views.
The Saltinskaya Gorge is an amazing natural monument with a length of 500 meters.
We will walk along a narrow path through a beautiful gorge. At the beginning, the width of the gorge is about 40 meters, the further you go, the closer it gets and you notice how walls grow up to 15 meters around you, after which a fabulous underground waterfall suddenly appears.
The underground waterfall is a real miracle of nature, the highlight of Dagestan, hidden from prying eyes among the mountains of Dagestan, the most unusual and interesting 20-meter waterfall underground. It has been a natural monument since 1983.
For arrivals from November to January 2025: dinner in Gunib – new national dishes are waiting for us in the restaurant, which is located in Gunib – this is an aul, the beauty of which was written by many famous poets and writers. It is important for the whole of Dagestan, it was here that the Caucasian War ended in 1859.
For arrivals from March 2025: dinner at the restaurant – after all the adventures, we will have dinner at the Laguna Golching restaurant, which is located above the beautiful Gunib reservoir.
After dinner, free time, those who wish can also gather around the campfire and continue the warm evening playing various table games led by a guide.

Day 3 - Troll's Tongue – Karadakh Gorge – Kahib and Goor – Datun Temple / horseback riding (in races from March)
We have breakfast at 8:00 and set off.
The Karadakh Gorge is the highest mountain gorge in Russia, with a width of 2 to 4 meters, a height of 170 meters and a length of more than 500 meters.
We will take a walk along the cable cars and beautiful stairs, very picturesque and beautiful places are waiting for us on the way to the gorge. The gorge itself is very fascinating with its views and curves that constantly change shape.
Kahib and Goor – they are known for their legendary towers and observation decks, these are active villages in the Shamil district of Dagestan, located very close to each other.
Accompanied by a local guide, Aksakal, we will walk through the beautiful viewing spots of these villages, reach the towers and hear the legends and stories of their creation.
The troll's tongue is a five–meter rocky ledge above a precipice overlooking the stunning Avarsky Koisu Valley, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Dagestan.
In this location, we will take spectacular photos on the edge of a cliff in bright hats and costumes. There are several such projections, each beautiful in its own way.
Lunch in Kahiba – we will go to one of the ethno-houses where we will taste local dishes, as well as those who wish can learn how to cook according to the old recipe of the highlanders.
For arrivals from November to January 2025: The Datun Temple is the oldest Christian church in Dagestan, built by Georgian missionaries in the early 11th century. The temple is located in a picturesque and beautiful gorge. The walls of the temple are very well preserved today. After all the adventures, we will have dinner on the way at the Laguna Golching restaurant, which is located above the beautiful Gunib reservoir, and go to the barn house.

Day 4 - Waterfalls, Stone bowl, Matlas extreme Park, Khunzakh plateau. Horseback riding (in races since March)
We have breakfast at 8:00 and leave with our belongings and suitcases. We are going to the top places where you can take a lot of interesting photos.
The Khunzakh plateau – silver waterfalls flow down from its cliffs and ancient villages are located. The height is 1700 m and the length is 29 kilometers.
While walking on this plateau, the views seem like pictures, we will walk with you to the waterfalls of Tobot and Itlyatlyar.
The Itlyatlyar Waterfall is one of the highest waterfalls in Russia, with a height of up to 100 meters.
Tobot Waterfall is the most beautiful waterfall in Dagestan, formed from various small rivers flowing into a plateau up to 70 meters long.
For lunch, we will try 5 different national dishes of the Avar people, and we will definitely try the well-known apricot porridge for dessert.
Matlas Extreme Park is a popular place for its mountain views and waterfalls.
We will take a walk under the Khan waterfall, update our album with interesting photos.
The stone bowl is a gallery inside the rocks, huge natural halls, where instead of ceilings, the blue sky of Dagestan is above you.
To get inside, we will walk through an extremely narrow corridor and enter the stone bowl itself. After that, we say goodbye to the Avar lands.
Next, we will find an ancient city, an open–air museum – the city of Derbent - and check-in at the hotel.
After check-in, dinner awaits us, where we will taste one of the most delicious dishes of southern Dagestan, Tabasaran miracle.
Free time in Derbent.
For races starting in March 2025: after the extreme park, horseback riding – we will take you for a walk on horseback with beautiful views of the Matlas Plateau, accompanied by experienced instructors.

Day 5 - Ancient Derbent. Departure
8:00 We have breakfast and leave the hotel, load our suitcases into the car and go to get acquainted with the Caspian monster and the historical city.
The Caspian monster or Lun ekranoplan was the pride of the Soviet Union, a hybrid of a ship and an airplane. The Soviet strike missile carrier project 903.
Another super location for memorable shots. A huge hybrid on the sand of the Caspian Sea will surely surprise you and leave a lot of impressions.
Naryn-Kala Fortress is the main attraction of Derbent. It was built by order of the Persian ruler in the 6th century. One of the largest in the world and the oldest fortress in Russia.
We will walk through the fortress, the old streets of Magali and look into the Juma Mosque — I will tell you all the secrets, history and legends of Derbent.
Magaly is a historical quarter in the old part of Derbent, where centuries–old houses, Mosques and oriental baths have been preserved.
The Juma Mosque is the oldest mosque in Russia and the CIS. The date of construction is 733-734.
Bazaar and souvenirs – let's go for a walk in the market and souvenir shops!
Lunch at the ethnodome. Our last meal will not be held normally, we will have an immersive lunch on the floor (table 30 cm) on comfortable pillows. Where we will taste the dishes of Southern Dagestan. Let's try on the national clothes of a mountain woman and a horseman.
We will definitely summarize the results of our quest game, and we will award the winners small but pleasant prizes for the points they receive.

The organization of the tour was at the highest level, any issue was resolved as quickly as possible. A very well-designed program. Well, the guides were giving their attention to everyone.
