The Caucasus in two days: Upper Balkaria and the CMS region

The Upper Balkaria tour starts at 06:50.

The Chegem Gorge is one of the most picturesque in the Caucasus, where the film "Sannikov Land" was shot, a walk through the gorge along the Chegem mountain river to the Chegem Waterfalls, the largest karst waterfalls in the Caucasus.

After the walk, a late breakfast with dishes of national Balkarian cuisine: kebabs, zhalbaur (liver), trout, lagman, shurpa, khychiny, homemade wine, tea on mountain herbs (for an additional fee).

Transfer to the Cherek gorge ~ 2 hours.

The village of Verkhnyaya Balkaria in the Cherek Gorge is the ancestral home of the Balkarian people. An inspection of the ancient towers.

Cherek Gorge is a stop on an observation deck near a deep cliff overlooking an ancient mountain road.

Blue Lake is the deepest karst lake in the Caucasus (it is cold).

Aushiger village — bathing in a hot spring (for an additional fee).

Return to the hotel ~ at 19:00-19:30.

Dinner at the hotel (if a meal plan is selected).

Excursion "Kislovodsk complex" ~ at 08:20.

• Koltso Mountain is one of the Lermontov places in Kislovodsk;
• Tea house (free tasting of herbal tea and many types of jam. It is possible to buy: jams, herbs, sweets);
• Honey Waterfalls is a gorge of the Alikonovka River, decorated with several waterfalls. On the territory of the campsite is the ethnographic museum "Karachayevsky courtyard", national costumes for photos;
• lunch on the route for an additional fee (cafe or canteen).
• Kislovodsk is a city park. Visit to the Nizhny Kislovodsk Resort Park:
  • bridge "Ladies' caprice";
  • Mirrored pond with Glass jet;
  • flowerbed calendar;
  • monument to Alexander Pushkin;
  • Lermontov playground with a monument to Mikhail Lermontov;
  • Main Narzan gallery with three narzanes (common, sulphate and dolomite);
  • Kurortny Boulevard;
  • The main Narzan baths.

Return to Pyatigorsk ~ at 18:00.

• a walk through the Lower Resort Park in Kislovodsk:
