The gorge of the Irik River is considered one of the most beautiful in the Elbrus region.
But to enjoy its beauties, we will have to try our best — the first 2 km of our route awaits us at an altitude of almost 700 m from the village of Elbrus, past the Sand Castles.
But for the remaining 5 km of the way, we will enjoy beautiful views: the eastern peak of Elbrus in all its glory, the Irik River flowing smoothly down into the gorge, and the fragrant pine forest, which is so pleasant to walk through in the summer heat.
And the most interesting thing awaits us at the end of the route — a small waterfall, a cozy clearing where we will stop and walk around the surroundings.
Gophers live in this clearing, you will have the opportunity to feed them, the guide will tell you how to feed the gopher so that it does not run away, the most fortunate gophers will get especially close.
All the way back we will see the snow-white pointed massif of the Shkhelda in the Adyl-Suu gorge.
On the way back, before going down to the village, you can turn off the trail a little and drink a cold, invigorating and very tasty narzan.
We will be at the hotel by 17:30, where you can relax and have a hearty dinner.
