Day 1 - "The world of clay toys" in Kovrov, master class, transfer to Shuya, village feast
Recommended trains: Lastochka, departure from Moscow at 07:15, arrival in Kovrov at 09:30.
Meeting at the railway station in Kovrov at 09:30.
Our fairy tale begins with the exposition "The World of clay toys".
Kovrov clay toy is a folk craft. Kovrov toys differ from Dymkovsky and Filimonov toys. Here, the masters create not only figurines of animals and fairy-tale characters, but also everyday scenes from Russian life, and write out all the details with utmost clarity.
Russian Russian toy makers' products depict diverse scenes of Russian life, as well as characters from Russian fairy tales.
The toys of our time are clay whistles, souvenirs, original compositions from people's everyday life, as well as figurines of mythical and animal creatures.
Who among us did not make toys in childhood? You will have such an opportunity. Under the guidance of a master, you will paint a clay toy and be able to take it with you.
Moving to the small town of Shuya, which has become the capital of Russian Christmas since 2020.
Shuya is famous as the birthplace of the "elected tsar" Vasily Shuisky, merchant dynasties, holy icons, the wondrous beauty of the Church of the Resurrection of Christ and the tallest "candle" bell tower in Russia, whose height is 106 m.
The object of our pride, our history, was collected bit by bit here and is carefully preserved.
The textile industry was born here. Shuya was chosen as the capital of the Russian Nativity for a reason: before the revolution, due to the number of churches, it was called the second Suzdal.
Lunch.
15:00 Accommodation at the Grand Shuya Hotel. Free time to relax and prepare for the New Year holiday.
21:00 Departure to the real village to celebrate the old New Year.
21:30 Village New Year's feast with an entertainment program in the village hut.
Dances, songs, contests, fortune telling, congratulations to the president and Santa Claus, delicious homemade dishes! Upon arrival You will be greeted with songs and a self-made tablecloth with Russian pickles, there will be pleasant surprises and funny jokes!
Fun contests for adults and children. Photos at the samovar "Me and my Masha" in Russian folk costumes, New Year's fortune telling, surprises and gifts.
For you, the friendly hosts have selected the highest quality, most delicious, most ecological products for the table. Meat and vegetable cuts from local farmers, herring with potatoes, lard and jelly, homemade smoked fish, cabbage, pickles and marinades, and, of course, the king of the New Year's table — olivier! You'll lick your fingers!
Folk drinks include a special intoxicating drink “Domotkanovka", berry juice and fragrant herbal tea.

Day 2 - Sightseeing walking tour of Shuya, cheese factory, Museum of local lore, merchant Pavlov's mansion
Brunch at the hotel. Free day.

Sightseeing walking tour of Shuya — an ancient cozy Russian city above the river Teza, famous since the beginning of the XVI century.
You will admire the beautifully preserved merchant buildings, stroll through the historical center of Shuya and visit the pearl of Shuya attractions — the grandiose Resurrection Cathedral!
The height of its bell tower is 106 meters — second only to the bell tower of the Peter and Paul Cathedral in St. Petersburg (120 m). It is the tallest free-standing tower in Russia!
In the cathedral itself there is a miraculous Shuisky icon of the Smolensk Mother of God, who saved the city from a pestilence in the XVII century.
Then we'll go to the hotel.
Visit to the Gagarin family cheese factory. A private "Cheese factory behind glass", where a glass wall separates the workshop and the store, so that customers can see the entire cheese production process.
The company produces more than 15 types of soft and semi—hard cheeses, cheese for frying haloumi, American Parmesan Monterey Jack (the only hard cheese in the range so far) and camembert cheese with white mold, as well as butter and cottage cheese.
Cheeses are made using both European technologies and Soviet-era developments. Tasting of the produced cheeses. You will have the opportunity to buy the products of the cheese factory.
Lunch.
Visit to the Museum of local lore.
The fascinating program "The thread twists, the stitch remains" — the history and features of embroidery in the Shuisky region, a display of the collection of "monastic stitching" and exhibition products of the Shuisky stitch factory from the museum collection.
We will visit one of the wonderful sights of the city — the mansion of the palace-type manufacturer, merchant of the First Guild, Mikhail Alekseevich Pavlov (1846-1915).
A beautiful two-storey building with a beautifully preserved rich interior. Of particular interest is the antique mirror. Magic glass cannot be cleansed of its past. If you put your palm to the mirror and make a cherished wish, then it will certainly come true. Only a palm mark must remain on the glass.
