Day 1 - Carpets and Shuya, interactive program and master class, rustic New Year's feast
Meeting at Kovrov railway station at 09:30.
Recommended train: Lastochka, departure from Moscow at 07:15, arrival in Kovrov at 09:30.
Our fairy tale begins with the exhibition "The World of clay toys".
Kovrov clay toy is a folk craft. Carpet toys differ from Dymkovsky and Filimonov toys. Here, the craftsmen create not only figurines of animals and fairy-tale characters, but also everyday scenes from Russian life, and write out all the details with the utmost clarity.
For a long time, pottery has been widely developed on the banks of the Klyazma River, rich in deposits of unique natural materials – red and blue clay, and in addition to household items, a clay toy was born – a peculiar and somewhat mysterious field of folk art.
They will tell you how the carpet clay toy differs from the others, what plots the masters brought to life, and what meaning they put into their work.
The coming year will be the year of the horse.
Under the guidance of the master, you will be able to create your own unique toy and paint it with bright patterns.
Russian Russian toy makers can buy products from the souvenir shop, which depict diverse scenes of Russian everyday life, as well as characters from Russian fairy tales.
Moving to the small town of Shuya, which has become the capital of Russian Christmas since 2020.
The city of Shuya was chosen as the capital of Russian Christmas for a reason, before the revolution, because of the number of churches, it was called the second Suzdal.
Shuya is famous as the birthplace of the "elected tsar" Vasily Shuisky, merchant dynasties, holy icons, the wonderfully beautiful Church of the Resurrection of Christ and Russia's tallest "candle" bell tower, which is 106 m high. The object of our pride, our history, was collected bit by bit here and is carefully preserved. The textile industry originated here.

Sightseeing walking tour of Shuya, an old cozy Russian town above the Tezo River, famous since the beginning of the 16th century.
You will admire the beautifully preserved merchant buildings, stroll through the historical center of Shuya and visit the pearl of Shuya attractions – the grandiose Resurrection Cathedral!
The height of its bell tower is 106 meters, second only to the bell tower of the Peter and Paul Cathedral in St. Petersburg (120 m). But the tallest of the free-standing ones in Russia!
The cathedral itself houses the miraculous Shuisky Icon of the Smolensk Mother of God, which saved the city from pestilence in the 17th century.
The street program "Oh, you horses, my horses" is waiting for you on Shuisky Arbat.
Winter horse-drawn sleigh rides have long been a favorite pastime in Russia.
Once upon a time, such "conventions" were massive, with decorated sleighs, elegant horses, songs, bells ringing, tricks from especially dashing drivers and the obligatory "dipping into a snowdrift" of gawking newcomers who flew out of the sleigh at sharp turns to general amusement.
But we assure you, even on an ordinary cart pulled by one horse, you will get a lot of positive emotions from the dazzling snow and sun, from speed, from the magical ringing of bells and a feeling of boundless freedom and joy.

We will visit the once largest and richest Shuisky estate, the mansion of the palace type of the manufacturer, merchant M.A. Pavlov (1846-1915).
A beautiful two-storey building with a beautifully preserved rich interior! He has a real magic mirror that cannot be cleared of his past.
No matter how often and thoroughly it is cleaned, after a while spots appear on the surface again, as if someone touched it at night. We suggest that you, following the tradition, put your palm to the mirror and make a cherished wish. If a palm print remains on the glass, then the wish will come true! So says the local legend!
Here we will have a New Year's round dance, a musical program that will certainly cheer you up.
