Trekking in the Chegem gorge. Elbrus region

Kabardino-Balkaria is one of the most amazing regions of the Caucasus! It is here that nature has created an infinitely beautiful gorge — Chegem, where the snowy peaks of the Main Caucasian Ridge live and there are many glaciers, and friendly sheep look at tourists from the emerald hills. The peculiarity of the Chegem gorge is silence and tranquility. There are not a lot of tourists here. Chegem is a tour for lovers of quiet relaxation, for those who want to be alone with the mountains.

Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Arrival. Chegem waterfalls, Adai-Su waterfall

    Gathering of the group in Mineralnye Vody:

    • 11:30 a.m. railway station;
    • 12:00 airport.

    We will visit two interesting locations:

    The first of them is the Adai—Su waterfall, it is also called the Small Chegem Waterfall.

    A walk to it will be a little walking warm-up for us.

    The rocks embrace Adai-Su and he falls quickly, as if jumping down from a height.

    And the height of the waterfall is very decent — 30 meters.

    The second interesting object of the tour for today is the Chegem waterfalls

    We will walk through a narrow, very picturesque gorge and see a cascade of waterfalls!

    There will be a souvenir market in the same gorge.

    After we stock up on souvenirs, we'll move on.

    In the village of Bulungu, we will stay in a cozy guest house with mountain views.

    For a comfortable hike to the waterfalls, it is enough to wear sneakers on the first day of the tour.

    Active part: 4 km on foot.

    The trip to Baikal was a success! The organization of the tour was impeccable. Thanks to the manager in the Big Country Yulia Trubinova. All the planned trips were at a good level, the accommodation also corresponded to the promised, i.e. with all amenities. Many thanks to our instructor of the Voskhod tour club - Alexey Dusenko and all the participants of the tour. Thanks to them, the tour turned out to be very interesting, rich and diverse for me. Of course, Baikal must be seen firsthand, photos and videos will only remind you of these days, and will not convey all the beauty! It is also remarkable that we were very lucky with the weather. The sun was shining, the ice shone like crystal. I am very glad that I was lucky enough to see all this and meet such wonderful people!
