New Year's gastronomic tour to Kamchatka

We have breakfast at the hotel in the morning and set ourselves up for a busy day! Today we are going to the Pacific Ocean to Khalaktyrsky beach.

This is a unique place with black volcanic sand and endless landscapes. Its length is more than 50 kilometers, and surfers train on the waves, even in winter.

We will walk along the water, enjoy the grandeur of nature and endless landscapes: on the one hand, the ocean, on the other hand, the "home" volcanoes and no one for kilometers around us.

During the walk, our guides will offer us warming tea based on local herbs with snacks and aromatic local tinctures based on wild berries.

For lunch, we will be waiting in a cozy and cozy restaurant with an open kitchen, where local farmers supply products directly.

Here we will try meat dishes with an emphasis on game. First, we will be served a fragrant shurpa of Kamchatka venison and moose with porcini mushrooms and ferns.

For hot dishes, tender deer medallions with juniper and lingonberry sauce.

The dishes are accompanied by a set of 5 local tinctures. We will taste tinctures of cranberries, shiksha, sea buckthorn, honeysuckle and blueberries.

The final chord will be a honey cake from the chef with wild buckwheat honey and a cup of tea with Kamchatka honeysuckle.

After lunch, we will explore Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, the port city.

Our walk will take an hour and a half, and we will see the most beautiful and outstanding places of the city.

We will climb Mishennaya and Nikolskaya hills to look at Avacha Bay from above. Vitus Bering founded a port settlement at its foot, from which the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky later grew.

For dinner, we will be served at a gastronomic restaurant serving Pacific cuisine made from rare local products from Kamchatka. In 2022, the chef of the restaurant became the best chef in Kamchatka following the results of the First All-Russian food Festival "Fern Crab".

First, we will be served scallop tartare with ginger dressing. The perfect wine pair for this dish will be a glass of fresh and delicate Gewurztraminer.

In the second course, we will try blue-horned halibut, smoked on alder sawdust.
And for dessert — "fly agaric from the tundra" with sour cream espuma and caramelized yagel.

In the evening we return to our hotel and relax after a busy day.

We have breakfast at our hotel and go on a tour to the foot of the majestic Avacha volcano. We will ride in a warm, heated sleigh pulled by snowmobiles.

Our route will run along a picturesque Dry River along a marked highway, along which a fabulous panorama of the Avacha and Koryak volcanoes opens.

A picnic lunch will be organized for us at the pass, after which we will go on an excursion to the mountain named "Camel". This mountain was formed as a result of the Avacha volcano eruption. Such mountains are called extrusions.

It offers a panorama between the two largest "home" volcanoes of Kamchatka: Avachinsky and Koryaksky. From the south-western side, the city is clearly visible, followed by Avacha Bay and Vilyuchinsky volcano.

After an eventful trip, we will go to a Japanese restaurant for dinner, where we will enjoy the gifts of the most ancient and mysterious, the great Pacific Ocean.

We will be served sashimi made from freshly caught red and white fish, crab, baked scallops and octopus. We will try seafood delicacies and enjoy Japanese cuisine.

For dessert, we will taste Japanese cotton cheesecake, and the whole dinner will be accompanied by warming sake from Hokkaido Island.

In the evening we return to our hotel and relax.

Today we are going to the Koryak camp and sled dog kennel, where we will learn about the life and traditions of the Koryak people.

Koryaks now live in Kamchatka only about 7 thousand people, they belong to the Arctic Eskimo race. And to this day, many of them maintain a traditional way of life.

And, of course, we will get acquainted with the traditional Kamchatka type of "transport" — dog sleds. After the briefing, you will be able to control them yourself and even participate in a small race!

After the races, we relax in a cozy national dwelling on reindeer skins and enjoy homemade mushroom soup from the Commander Nature Reserve and tea made with local herbs.

After such a boost of energy, we are going to check into our new hotel — one of the best in Kamchatka!

We have at our disposal a spa complex with a swimming pool and thermal water fonts. We rest, relax, swim in the thermal springs.

We are having dinner today in the atmospheric restaurant of the author's cuisine with a view of the mountains and the lake. It is located nearby on the territory of the hotel, and it is close to walk, which is especially important after a busy day.

For an aperitif, we will be served a salad with Kamchatka crab and black pepper sauce, accompanied by a glass of mineral Prosecco.

For a hot meal, Pacific cod with potato gratin and fried mushrooms. The dinner will end with Yuzu tart with meringue.

Today we have a leisurely breakfast at our spa hotel and go to one of the most beautiful places in Kamchatka - to the foot of the Mutnovsky volcano!

We are leaving on all-terrain vehicles with a guide who will be with us on our journey. Our first stop is at the Vilyuchinsky pass.

There is an observation deck with a view of the high Vilyuchinsky volcano. It is very beautiful, with a regular conical shape.

When you look at the views around you, you can imagine what the planet was like before us. It's an incredible feeling!

Then we drive to the foot of the Mutnovsky volcano, where we will stop near the geothermal power plant. Here we will walk to the springs!

Our walk will not take more than an hour in one direction, the road is simple and suitable for absolutely any traveler.

We will see a fantastic sight from the swirling steam and bubbling springs.

Both geysers and fumaroles are just a small part of the surreal landscapes that await here. A magical place!

We walk, look, take pictures and return to our car. A hot picnic lunch awaits us here: baked Kamchatka salmon steaks, lightly salted Pacific halibut and red caviar sandwiches.

In the evening we return to our spa hotel.

After dinner (and tomorrow morning), you will have time to swim in the equipped thermal springs with fonts and a swimming pool and relax in your room.

We're having dinner at another restaurant on site today to get to know the different styles of the local chefs.

For an aperitif, we will be served vitello tonnato in Kamchatka style, and for a hot meal, stewed ribs with plum sauce.

The dishes are accompanied by a glass of aged dry wine made from Malbec grapes.

At the end of the dinner, we will try the restaurant's signature dessert — a cone with vanilla sauce and pine nuts.

A good addition to our dinner will be beer from the local Avachinskaya brewery, which is the largest in Kamchatka!

We have dinner, exchange impressions and share plans and routes for future trips.

We have breakfast in our restaurant and leave for Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

On the way to the airport, we will stop at the fish market so that you can buy local delicacies and souvenirs on the way.

Then we will escort you to the airport.
