It takes 10 minutes by hovercraft from the village of Oyatevshchyna to Kizhi Island.

Please note: You can only get to Kizhi Island by the end of January in this way, because the ice in the open Onega Lake and in Petrozavodsk usually rises only by the end of January. In this regard, to get to Kizhi, you need to take a bus almost to the island itself in a detour through Medvezhegorsk. And there is a short distance on strong ice (because this is the northern part of the lake and there are skerries — in which the ice rises very quickly) on a hovercraft. This is the only way to get to Kizhi on New Year's holidays!
