Itinerary

Day 1 - Tour of Sortavala. Valaam Island (for an additional fee)
08:20 Upon arrival of train No. 160 in Sortavala, a group meeting at the railway station in Sortavala, a sign "Hits of Ladoga region".
Breakfast in a cafe in the city.
Sightseeing tour of Sortavala — together with an experienced guide, you will plunge into the history of Sortavala: you will learn about the development of the city in different eras, about cultural features and traditions.
Take a walk through the historical center and admire the Finnish houses, immersing yourself in the features of wooden architecture of the 19th century.
Optional, for an additional fee, an excursion to the island of Valaam (payment and booking when booking the tour).
Departure along Lake Ladoga to Valaam Island (50 min. on the way on the Meteor).
Valaam has a full lunch program (lenten), 5-hour stay on the island, walking programs:
Guided tour of the Central manor of the monastery.
Excursion to one of the hermitages of the Valaam archipelago (according to the technical capability of the monastery): Excursion to Nikolsky hermitage — one of the most beautiful monasteries of Valaam or "New Jerusalem". The Resurrection Skete, the Gethsemane skete, climb Mount Olivet.
Valaam is the Northern Athos, the holy monastery, the magical land. At one time, N. Roerich, I. Shishkin, A. Kuindzhi, F. Tyutchev, representatives of the Romanov dynasty, and prominent church figures loved to visit Valaam. Valaam will not leave you indifferent!
Return to Sortavala.
Free time.

Day 2 - Ruskeala Mountain Park. Traveling by retro train
Breakfast in the hotel cafe.
Transfer to Ruskeala Mountain Park (30 km).
Meeting with a guide in a mountain park.
Group land tour in Ruskeala Mountain Park. You will see a unique creation — a huge bowl carved by human hands in an array of marble formations.
Take a walk along the extraordinary lake, which is framed by gentle and steep cliffs of light gray marble, reaching a height of 25 m above the water mirror.
In your free time, you can use additional park services (purchase at the ticket office of the park on the day of the event):
The Underground Ruskeala route.
Trolls (zipline).
Boat trip.
Boat trip on the platform, etc.
Return from Ruskeala Mountain Park by retro train to Sortavala.

Arrival in Sortavala.
Transfer to the hotel.

Day 3 - Boat trip along the Ladoga skerries. Bastion History Park
Breakfast in the hotel cafe.
Room release.
Departure for a boat trip along the Ladoga skerries (group trip, duration 2 hours).
To get to the National Park, we will visit one of the bays of Lake Ladoga with steep cliffs and a beautiful legend about a mermaid girl. Here we will start a boat trip along the skerries, making exits on some islands.
You will pass through the straits where Vikings visited and Peter I's fleet fought with the Swedes.
In the skerries you can see small but very picturesque waterfalls, which are not easy to reach in any other way.
Return to Sortavala.
Lunch at a cafe in the city.
Visit to the Bastion History Park.
There are currently four locations in the park.:
Viking Age Living History Museum "Black Bear Fortress".
The Four Fronts Museum of Living History, which is dedicated to the Soviet-Finnish armed conflicts of the 20th century.
The Roman Camp Museum of Living History, which is dedicated to the history of Ancient Rome, in particular the imperial period.
The Stone Age eco-playground is a natural space with petroglyphs applied to the stones.
The price includes themed guided tours that run every half hour in all museums at the same time. Once you get here, you will detach yourself from reality. Fortress walls, observation towers, Viking dwellings, a blacksmith shop.
You can try on a warrior's armor or a merchant's costume. You will see the reconstruction of typical fortifications.
There is an equipped artillery position, a bunker, shooting points with bulletproof shields and trenches connecting all the fortifications together.
Transfer to Sortavala railway station.
The program ends around 18:00.

Alda is a cozy hotel located in Sortavala, next to the picturesque Lake Ladoga.

Rooms are available in various categories. Each room has a comfortable bed, bedside lamps and bedside tables, a TV, as well as an individual bathroom with hygiene products and a shower.

A tea station is available in the rooms so that you can always enjoy a hot drink. Nearby there are various cafes where you can have a delicious meal.

Within walking distance there is a Socio-cultural Youth Center, the Church of St. John the Theologian, the Museum of the private collection of Kronid Gogolev, the Town Hall and much more.

We went on the Reboot tour in Karelia and came away with so many positive emotions and impressions. The organization was excellent, everything ran smoothly with no delays or confusion. We always knew who was picking us up, where we were going, and when we’d be back. We've been on other trips, so we truly appreciate how well this one was managed, thank you for that.
