Karelian New Year holidays

Breakfast at the hotel. 

10:00 Transfer to the Karyala Park tourist complex (30 km from Petrozavodsk). 

11:00 – 12:00 Master class on cooking wickets under the guidance of the chef. 

Surely you have already heard about one of the business cards of Karelia – gates. You will try to cook them with your own hands! Learn how to cook the dough, filling and properly "pinch" the gates. Upon returning home, you will be able to surprise everyone with a recipe and skills brought from Karelia. 

12:00 – 13:30 While the chef cooks your masterpieces in the oven, you will take a ride on a picturesque forest track on a dog sled! 

One of the best husky kennels in Karelia is located here in Karjala Park. Each inhabitant of the nursery has not only its own external features, but also a character. They have one thing in common – they are truly beautiful, powerful and incredibly kind dogs. 

You will hear an interesting story from a cabin instructor about the inhabitants of the kennel, learn the history of the breed, the features of breeding and maintenance. And after passing the safety briefing, take a ride on a dog sled. 

The route (1 km.) will pass through a flat area in a snow-covered pine forest along the banks of the Shuya River. 

13:30 – 14:00 At the end of an eventful day, you will have a tea party with the gates that you prepared at the master class, warm communication and the exchange of positive emotions. 

15:00 Return to Petrozavodsk. Rest. 

12/31/2024 - on request, for an additional fee, a New Year's banquet in a restaurant in the city. The cost and the program are being specified.

12:00 We leave for the Northern Ladoga region (260 km, about 4 hours one way). 

We are going to the Ruskeala Mountain Park by the time the magic backlight is turned on in the Marble Canyon. 

16:00 – 17:15 The famous Ruskeala Mountain Park was created at the historical sites of marble mining, which was mined here for centuries to decorate the architectural masterpieces of St. Petersburg. 

A lake has formed in a huge man—made quarry, from which marble slopes grow, and in winter it turns into an ice fairy tale - the real kingdom of the Snow Queen. 

In the evening, artistic lighting is turned on here, adding even more charm and magic to what is happening. 

You will walk along the main route around the canyon, learn interesting facts from the history of mining, take photos with the best views of the marble slopes. You will walk along the "dry tunnel", where you will feel the power and scale of the rock mining, look into the "marble heart" sinkhole, from where you can see the underground part of the park. 

17:15 – 19:00 Free time in the park. 

19:00 – 23:00 Return to Petrozavodsk.

After breakfast, we leave the hotel. We leave our things on the bus.

12:00 – 13:00 Transfer to the resort "Marcial waters". This is the first Russian resort that was founded  Peter the Great in 1719 on the basis of ferruginous mineral springs. 

You will visit the Museum of the History of the resort, visit the Church of the Apostle Peter and taste the water from three healing springs. 

14:00 – 15:00 Lunch at the cafe.

15:00 – 16:00 Visit to the Kivach Nature Reserve, the pearl of which is the ice-free waterfall. It is located on one of the largest rivers in Karelia — the Suna. You will learn a beautiful Karelian legend related to this fact. 

You will have the opportunity to admire the waterfall and take great photos from three viewing platforms. 

During the tour of the cozy Nature Museum located in the reserve, you will see the exposition of the animal and plant world of the area. 

In the protected arboretum, in addition to other unique trees, you will see the famous Karelian birch. You will find out why she is so appreciated and whether it is true that she does not have the usual rings. 

You will have the opportunity to walk among the ancient trees and enjoy the purity of the Karelian air. 

Return to Petrozavodsk.
