We will stop in the city of Priozersk to immerse ourselves in the centuries-old history of the North–West of Russia on a guided tour of the Korela Fortress, an ancient fortification that has preserved its appearance since the XVIII century.
At various times, the fortress belonged to Russia, Sweden and Finland, which was reflected in its architecture.
We will continue our journey and stop at the provincial town of Lahdenpohya, located on the shores of the Yakimvaarsky Bay of Ladoga.
We will stroll through the cozy streets with Finnish-built houses, meet the heroes of the national epic "Kalevala" in the park and see the ruins of the Lutheran church.
After lunch at the cafe, we will go to the Valley of Waterfalls Ecopark.
Here, in the bed of the completely ice-free Iyjoki River, four small waterfalls are located one after the other.
We will walk along the ecotrope through the forest covered with snow, meet an ancient watermill, enter an ethnic village, where we will get acquainted with the way of life of the Sami, the indigenous people of the North, if desired, we will go to the farm and we will be able to feed moose and deer with our hands.
In the evening we will arrive in Sortavala and stay at the hotel.
We recommend you to take a walk around the capital of Ladoga region and have dinner in one of the many cafes.
