We will meet at the railway station in Petrozavodsk. We recommend that you arrive before 08:00.
We leave by minibus to the starting point. Travel time is 3.5-4 hours.
We get acquainted, prepare lunch, go through a briefing, get all the equipment and after lunch we go out on the water.
We master the skills of working with an oar and controlling a raft. Before the first obstacle on the river (the Pristansky threshold), we get used to working in a team.
After passing the Pristansky threshold, we inspect the Valazmensky and Melnichny thresholds. After passing the Millstone threshold (and having a little swim in it), we continue our way along Lake Pyalvozero.
A rapid section of the river begins from the mouth of the left tributary of the Karanga.
The Markotkoski threshold can be distinguished from the rapids, which is formed due to the acceleration of the river flow in the channels between several small islands. The shafts here can reach 0.6 m.
Next, we pass the Kosaniski and Korbikoski rapids with a strong jet and good shafts.
Soon after the rapids in the area of the Kaidozero tract, we set up camp, have dinner, relax by the campfire, and spend the night in tents.
