Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival in Petrozavodsk. Guided tour of the embankment. ATV route
The journey begins in Petrozavodsk, where you need to get to on your own on the first day of the program. We recommend purchasing tickets for train No. 018A upon arrival from Moscow.
After meeting at the Petrozavodsk railway station, you will have breakfast in a cafe.
After breakfast, we will take a walk along the embankment of Petrozavodsk — this is one of the most picturesque places in the capital of Karelia. It is located along Lake Onega and is a popular holiday destination for townspeople and tourists. Here you can enjoy the views of the lake, stroll along the landscaped paths, take memorable photos at the beginning of the tour, as well as admire the monuments of architecture and culture.
Thus, the Petrozavodsk embankment is not just a beautiful place to walk, but also an important cultural center reflecting the spirit and history of the city.
Transfer to the starting point of the ATV safari.
Before the start, you will receive a safety briefing and select your equipment (double occupancy on an ATV, category B license is required for drivers).
The route of average difficulty takes about 3 hours (approximately 40 km), and it is advisable for drivers to have experience driving a snowmobile or ATV in off-road conditions.
Lunch at a cafe.
Transfer to the starting point of the rafting – to the Ignoilskaya HPP dam (130 km).
You participate in setting up a camp and cooking dinner.
Overnight in the field.

Day 2 - Shuya River Rafting
Breakfast at the camp and preparation of equipment for going out to the river.
Before the start, you will receive a safety briefing and pick up equipment: a life jacket, helmet, paddles, and a neoprene suit (for an additional fee).
General and personal items will be packed in waterproof bags.
Rafting route along the Shuya River: Ignolskaya HPP – port. Kenyakoski (3-4 K.S.) – por. Valoine (1-2 c.s.) – por. Sarikoski (1-2 c.s.) – por. Kumio (2-3 villages), 15 km.
Shuya is one of the longest and largest rivers of the Republic of Karelia.
The river has a frequently changing mood: sometimes calm, sometimes harsh, which especially attracts tourists. Due to the fact that Shuya is surrounded by peat bogs, the waters of the river are colored in a dark tea color.
The river itself is friendly to beginners and children, the rapids here range from simple to complex.
The most difficult thresholds that you will pass today are the Kenyakoski and Kumio thresholds.
The instructor decides whether to pass or carry the Kenyakoski and Kumio thresholds, depending on the overall readiness of the group and the water level.
Kenyakoski threshold (3-4 km.) – from the Karelian language "black threshold", and all because the water appears black because of the rocks coming to the surface.
A snack will be arranged for you on the way.
In the evening, you will take part in setting up a camp and cooking dinner, and the instructors will conduct a master class on cooking Karelian trout for you.
Supper.
Free time at the camp: you can gather in a group around the campfire, play traditional hiking games, and share your impressions of the hike.

Day 3 - Continuation of the rafting. Completion of the program
After breakfast at the camp, you will continue rafting along Shuya: Kumio Threshold (2-3 km) – Sodder village.
The total length of the route is 15 km.
You will paddle part of the way, and on quieter sections you will use the motor to enjoy the picturesque Karelian landscapes.
In the village of Sodder, we collect and hand over the equipment. Lunch and a sauna are waiting for you here.
Transfer to Petrozavodsk (110 km).
You will have free time in Petrozavodsk, during which you can have dinner at your favorite cafe or restaurant, buy souvenirs and stroll around the city.
Departure by evening trains from Petrozavodsk railway station.
Return tickets must be purchased for trains departing from Petrozavodsk no earlier than 21:00 on the final day of the tour.

Rent of a single or double tent is paid additionally – 1000 rubles / tour.

It's important to know

Take with you:

a backpack without a machine or a travel bag.

The form of clothing during the rafting:

socks should be on your feet (not thin cotton, tighter). Shoes that you don't mind getting wet (sneakers are perfect). If you have neoprene socks or neoprene boots, it is welcome;
rubber boots are PROHIBITED, because when they get into the water, they pull the participant down.
as outerwear: comfortable sportswear for the weather or a neoprene suit (if available). It is desirable that the clothes be quick-drying. We recommend NOT to take jeans, any sweatpants will do instead;
Recommended: put on a light Bolognese suit (protection from wind and moisture). Raincoats made of dense materials can be used;
you can take thin cotton gloves or neoprene gloves (optional) on your hands.
there will be a helmet on your head, you can put a bandana under it;
you can take a camera, there will be sealed packages on the rafts, in which it can be hidden at the moment of passing the threshold;
if you wear glasses, try to come up with a chain for them (so as not to lose them) or put on lenses for the duration of the alloy.

A set of clothes for changing clothes after rafting:

a set of dry comfortable outerwear;
dry comfortable shoes and socks;
beanie/bandana/buff;
a set of spare underwear.

Clothing for sleeping in a tent:

warm loose clothing (if available, thermal underwear);
warm socks (woolen ones are possible) and a thin hat (nights can be cool);
for the evening, a fleece jacket / sweatshirt / jacket.

For a trip to the tourist bath:

individual towel;
swimsuit (boys / girls go to the bathhouse all together, groups of 8-10 people);
slates/sandals are sporty.

Shoes (comfortable, without heels):

one for rafting on the river;
the second one is for the camp (you can take rubber boots if it rains according to the forecast);
The third one is "urban".

Personal items:

knee pads (when rafting on a catamaran) – not necessary;
repellents (mosquitoes, midges);
flashlight with a set of spare batteries;
sunglasses and sunscreen and after sunburn, if it is sunny according to the forecast;
personal hygiene products (including toilet paper);
an individual first aid kit;
small polyurethane seat mat;
a portable charger.

Documents and money in an airtight package:

passport;
medical insurance policy (photocopy is available);
We recommend that you always have a small amount of cash with you so that, if desired, you can quickly buy the necessary things at stops along the route.

1. Persons over the age of 18 are allowed to drive the ATV.

2. Riding an ATV while intoxicated is prohibited.

3. When riding an ATV, it is mandatory to use protective equipment: helmet; gloves; boots or boots; long-sleeve jacket; trousers (it is not recommended to ride ATVs in shorts and/or shirts, T-shirts with short sleeves).

4. Proper landing on an ATV:
– the driver is sitting (not standing and lying down or otherwise) on the ATV, holding the steering wheel tightly with both hands, feet on the running boards.
– the passenger sits on the ATV, holding tightly to the handles specially designed for this, and not the driver, with his feet on the running boards.

5. Before starting off, make sure that the path is free of obstacles (people, other ATVs, etc.).

6. If the ATV tilts to the side during movement, it is necessary to shift the body weight to the opposite side from the roll in order to balance the moving ATV. It is strictly forbidden to restore the balance of the ATV using your legs, as this can lead to injury.

7. When driving with a passenger, the maneuverability of the ATV decreases, therefore, plan turns and stops in advance.

8. If the ATV is stuck, you must wait for the instructor.

9. If the ATV is defective, stop and wait for the instructor.

10. Memorize the basic hand signals. The signals are given by the driver of the first ATV, then transmitted along the chain.:
– left turn: left arm extended to the side,
– right turn: left arm extended to the side, bent at the elbow at an angle of 90 degrees,
– stop, danger: raised straight left arm up. When you see this signal, be sure to slow down and increase your attention.
Always duplicate the quad's head signals.

11. When crossing roads, stop the ATV completely and make sure that the road is clear of vehicles. Then cross the road at right angles to the direction of travel on the intersected road.

10. The driving distance is 40-50 m.

11. Keep a rolling track when moving. You should only move along the prepared track behind the lead ATV.

12. Keep the speed at which you feel comfortable and safe (no more than 40 km/h). There is no need to catch up with the ATV moving fast ahead. Take your time, they'll be waiting for you.

13. If you need to stop (your helmet glass is frozen/fogged up, your hands are showing signs of fatigue, lack of confidence in traffic safety, etc.), do not wait for the group to stop. Raise your left hand up (the stop signal for the ATVs following you) and stop smoothly. After stopping, call (wait) for an instructor to provide additional instruction, continue traveling as a passenger with an instructor or a more experienced tourist, or find another way out of the current situation.
