The water world of Ladoga region. Adventures in Karelia

After breakfast, you will have an exciting yachting training.

You will listen to the introductory lecture "Fundamentals of yachting", and after that you will practice practicing the basic maneuvers: raising and adjusting sails, turns, mooring.

Everyone will have the opportunity to stand behind the wheel, work with ropes.

The group is divided into teams of 6-7 people, the first two teams go to conquer Ladoga on yachts, the rest of the participants will have a culinary master class on cooking gravlax (lightly salted trout in the Scandinavian style).

In ancient times, the locals ate almost only fish and buried it in the ground for storage. Hence the name gravlax — "buried" salmon.

You will try to cook gravlax in a modern way.

After lunch at glamping, the teams switch places.

Those who have not tried yachting yet go on a water route. And those who have mastered the basics of yachting will try their hand at gastronomy.

In the evening, you will have dinner at glamping and relax.

After breakfast, you will have a guided walking tour deep into the island of Havus.

You will take a nature trail through the Karelian taiga. You will see geological rocks that can be called the "backbone of the Earth": a glacier passing through the territory of Ladoga exposed very ancient stone outcrops, which are up to 2.5 billion years old.

The culmination of the route will be the exit to the Haukkariutta rock (fin. "falcon reef"). From a height of more than 40 meters, you will again have a wonderful view of the Ladoga skerries.

After lunch, you will receive a briefing on how to manage SUP boards and set off on a route to Tikhaya Bay. This is the most enjoyable place for beginner SUP boarders to really get on the board and feel confident.

You will walk along the bay, admire the unique landscapes of Ladoga and, if you are lucky, you will meet curious seals.

In the evening, you will have dinner and rest in the domes.

If desired, in the evening you can play board games or sing guitar songs around a large campfire on the glamping grounds.

If you wish, you can also visit the furako bathhouse right on the shore of Ladoga or the Russian bathhouse (for an additional fee).

After breakfast at glamping, you will embark on a circular motorized boat route along the Ladoga skerries (duration 3-4 hours).

One of the striking features of the Ladoga skerries is the so—called "reef mountains". Reef mountains are called mountains that break off into the lake with sheer cliffs, the height of which can reach 80 meters.

You will see several significant peaks (viewpoints) Ladoga skerries: Riuttavuori, the view from which was captured on the Finnish 500 mark banknote in the 19th century, Aino, which offers a panorama of the skerries and open Ladoga (in good weather, you can see O. Valaam), and the town of Vakhtemyaki, also known as the "roof of Ladoga", with its unique view of the skerries.

In the afternoon, we will hold a master class on making tinctures.

We will perform different versions of making tinctures from berries and herbs, taste original recipes from the chef of the restaurant and prepare a memorable souvenir with ourselves.

Next, you will have a dinner with dishes of Karelian cuisine.

You will spend the night in cozy hemispherical domes surrounded by a pine forest.

In the morning, breakfast will be arranged for you at the glamping.

You will go to Ristijarvi Lake (40 minutes on the way), where you will try your hand at kayaking.

Initially, a kayak was a vessel of the northern peoples for hunting and traveling by sea. Feel like a real Northerner.

The name of the lake comes from the Finnish "risti" — "cross", which is associated with the cruciform shape of the lake. High, steep cliffs of granite and granite-gneiss surround the lake from all sides and give it the appearance of a mountain lake.

Before starting the route, you will receive a detailed briefing on safety and kayaking rules.

A picnic lunch is waiting for you on the route.

Return to glamping, free time.

If desired, and for an additional fee, you can visit the furako sauna right on the shore of Lake Ladoga.

In the morning, a Karelian-style breakfast will be served for you.

After breakfast, departure by motorboat to the pier and transfer to the Ruskeala Mountain Park (1 hour on the way). Here our guide will take you on a land tour of the mountain park.

Ruskeala marble quarry is a monument of cultural heritage of Russia. Development here began in 1765.

The walls of the famous St. Isaac's Cathedral, Ladozhskaya and Primorskaya metro stations in St. Petersburg are decorated with Ruskeal marble.

After the tour, we will have lunch at a cafe and provide free time in the park so that you can go diving (for an additional fee), ride a zip-line (for an additional fee) or just stroll through the park and enjoy its beauty.

Later in the evening you will leave for Sortavala.

In Sortavala, the guide will take you on a short walking tour of the city, and you will have free time to have dinner on your own or buy souvenirs (for an additional fee).

Return tickets must be purchased for train No. 160A departing from Sortavala at 20:52 on the final day of the tour.
