Welcome to Petrozavodsk, the capital of Karelia. The port of the five seas, located on the shores of Europe's second largest freshwater reservoir, Lake Onega. A real European city with a national Karelo-Finnish flavor, the same age as St. Petersburg, cozy, beautiful, with its own unique.
08:45 Meeting with a guide on the embankment of Lake Onega at the rotunda, Yeremeyeva St., 1.
09:00 Departure for the excursion program.
The first point of our tour is Mount Sampo. This is a small hill with an observation deck and a view of Lake Konchozero below. We will walk along the equipped trail to the guide's stories about the legends of Karelia and the famous epic "Kalevala", and we will also make a wish by tying ribbons on a magical tree.
The next stop is the Marcial Waters resort. It was discovered by Peter the Great himself in 1719. Springs with healing water saturated with iron gush out of the ground here. We will see an old wooden church from the time of Peter, pavilions built for the arrival of high-ranking people, and, of course, taste the water from four wells.
Next, we move towards the town of Girvas. Here we will not only admire the picturesque nature (many films were shot at this place for a reason), but also take a walk along the long—frozen lava flows - the remains of an ancient volcano. If you are lucky, you will get to the descent of the reservoir and see an amazing sight – the stormy Girvas waterfall.
The final point of the route is Kivach Waterfall. They write odes and paint pictures in his honor. Kivach is considered the second largest plain waterfall in Europe.
We will admire the 11-meter cascade from several viewing platforms, and then visit the arboretum with samples of rare Karelian plants and the nature museum.
In the evening we will return to Petrozavodsk filled with impressions and harmony of Karelian nature: rocks, lakes, forests and waterfalls.
17:30 End of the program.
Check-in at a city hotel.
