We will visit the open-air museum and the theatrical backstage of the Chuvash National Academic Drama Theater named after K. Ivanov, where you can plunge into the theatrical atmosphere of folk traditions and rituals, get acquainted with the songs and dances of the Chuvash region.

Our journey will begin with an amazing corner — Vladimirskaya Gorka. It was here that the ancient settlement was located and it was here, even before the founding of the fortress city of Cheboksary, that "... there was already a military force" at this place, which met the first Archbishop of Kazan and Sviyazhsky Guriy in the summer of 1555, who was instructed by Ivan the Terrible to illuminate the site of the future fortress and the main temple.

After getting acquainted with the historical events and traditions of this secluded monastery - the Savior Transfiguration Convent, we will continue our tour of the city and go to the western slope to the main Orthodox church of Chuvashia, a unique architectural monument of the XVII century, which has survived almost in its original form - the Vvedensky Cathedral.

Here, in the historical part of the city, we will see objects of cultural heritage that have survived to the present day: the oldest operating prison in Russia; the Church of St. Michael the Archangel and an Art Gallery located in an architectural monument in the Art Nouveau style of the early 20th century. At the end of the program, we will visit the Holy Trinity Monastery and will be able to touch the shrines of the monastery, as well as worship the miraculous image of St. Nicholas of Mozhaisk of the XVI century.

The current Kozmodemyansk is divided into the "upper" new and "lower" historical parts – it is an ancient city with a rich past, with modern infrastructure and production.

You will walk along the ancient streets and squares, learn authentic facts and beautiful legends about the history of the city and its inhabitants, see the church of the Life-Giving Trinity of the XVIII century, intricate wooden and stone merchant mansions with magnificent openwork, overhead and sawn carvings, many of which have museum expositions.

You will also admire the monument of federal significance – the stone Streletskaya chapel built at the end of the XVII century and inspect the Cathedral of the Smolensk Icon of the Mother of God, built in the XIX century.

The museum in honor of the famous adventurer was founded in 1996 on the wave of popularity of the Interregional Benderiada Festival, held annually in Kozmodemyansk. In the Museum you will plunge into the atmosphere of satire, humor and modern art, you will be able to try on the images of the Great Combinator, Kisa Vorobyaninov, the incomparable Ellochka Shchukina and become the muse of Ostap – Madame Gritsatsueva.

The Museum's exhibitions are unusual and original. It houses the products of local artists and craftsmen, fans of the work of I. Ilf and E. Petrov, both from our country and from abroad. Some of the exhibits came here directly from the festival. In the Museum, you will see where Ostap and Kisa visited in the city, how they were cut in a barbershop called "Cutting and shaving goats" and who they came out of there, what they dined at the Vasyukinsky Narpit, how Ostap's lecture and a simultaneous chess session took place. In addition, you will be able to take pictures against the background of the memorial exhibition "Ostap in the premises of the mining section of the city of Vasyuki".

One of the halls of the Museum is dedicated to the work of the master sculptor N.B. Ledeneikin, an Honored worker of Culture of the Republic of Mari El, who brilliantly uses the clay reserves of the mining region in his work.
