Borus is a mountain range located in the south of the Krasnoyarsk Territory in the vicinity of the village of Cheryomushki in the city of Sayanogorsk, near the Sayano-Shushenskaya hydroelectric power station. The highest point of the ridge is Poilova Peak (Bolshoy Borus), rising 2,318 meters above sea level. We will climb it.

Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Transfer Krasnoyarsk – Cheryomushki

    At 7:00 we leave by car /minibus from Krasnoyarsk towards the village of Cheryomushki. The journey takes about 7-8 hours. When we reach the place, we move into a warm house, get acquainted.

    On the basis of accommodation, the houses are large, designed to accommodate up to 18 people (in one house). Inside the house there is a large dining table, wooden floors on a raised platform, for sleeping you will need mats / inflatable mats, as well as sleeping bags.

    The house is warm, there is a stove, as well as light and electricity for charging gadgets.

The total height gain is about 2,000 m.

Travel time is about 12 hours.

The route has a difficulty category 1B, meaning it does not require special equipment and is accessible to a healthy, active adult, but it is not an easy walk.

Recreation center 2 nights

Outdoor recreation does not necessarily have to take place in camping conditions with accommodation in tents. After a long journey and physical exertion, it's so nice to settle into a cozy, warm house and steam in the sauna. 

Therefore, on our tour we will live at a recreation center, which has a fascinating view of the Borus ridge.

Personal equipment you need for the tour

Footwear:

  • maximum warm trekking boots;
  • slippers/sandals for bathing and walking in the house;

  • warm windproof hooded jacket;
  • windproof trousers (preferably made of membrane);

Hiking equipment:

  • trekking backpack 30-40 liters;
  • snow-proof shoe covers (gaiters, flashlights);
  • sleeping bag;
  • hoba;
  • tracking sticks;
  • headlamp (with new batteries);
  • sunglasses (with UV filter, protection level at least 3, preferably with a case);
  • water tank (thermos, hydrator, bottle) — 1.5 liters;
  • phone (with charging, there is an outlet in the house);

Personal items:

  • mug, plate, spoon;
  • toothbrush, toothpaste;
  • bathroom accessories;
  • patch (for the prevention of corns) — 2-3 cm wide;
  • sunscreen, lipstick (with maximum protection factor);
  • first aid kit for "favorite" diseases + vitamins;
  • Russian passport;
  • the MHI policy.
