Art weekend in Staraya Ladoga

The weekend will be filled with creativity: we will go to the village where local artists have revived the traditional art craft and are ready to share with us the secrets of craftsmanship.

We will walk around the neighborhood, draw sketches, sculpt from clay and paint decorative tiles, all under strict guidance. Let's relax body and soul, immerse ourselves in history, creativity and contemplation of the northern nature.

And in the evening we will have a hot bath with brooms, for dinner — meat and fish cooked by the cook on the fire. It will be fun and interesting for both adults and children!

Itinerary

  • Day 1 - A walk along the shore of the Volkhov and a pottery workshop

At 10:30 we take the train to Volkhovstroy-1 station or take a private car directly to the estate.

We check into the house, go for a walk around the village of Chernavino.

The Volkhov River flows just a 10-minute walk from our ceramic workshop, offering magnificent views of the Old Ladoga Fortress and two monasteries.

If the weather is good, we will try to make quick sketches. It's not difficult, even if you're not an artist at all.

After walking up, we go to have lunch in a cafe.

After lunch we go to the pottery workshop. We get acquainted with the traditions of local crafts, invent and sculpt dishes for ourselves, decorate it.

Here, under the guidance of a professional craftsman, you can make yourself not just a souvenir, but a really beautiful interior thing.

In the evening, we will have a sauna and dinner prepared for us by the cook. Meat and fish on the grill — what could be tastier than fresh farm products?

We rest, get to know each other better, share our impressions :)
