Ivangorod — Elizavetino: sea urchins, lampreys, fortresses, farmsteads

Let's start with a tasting of the freshest oysters, sea urchins and scallops at the Rak-sha farm within the walls of the Imperial factory. Then there is the harsh fortress of Koporye from the time of Alexander Nevsky and acquaintance with the people of Izhora in the Nikolsky skete with a homemade dinner and a live syringarium.

We are waiting for the Ivangorod fortress with a view of Estonian Narva, the secrets of Baron Stieglitz and a tasting of rare lamprey. The final is the Elizavetino manor, which rose from the ruins: a flower clock of the XIX century, a swan pond and the legends of Princess Trubetskoy.

Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Tasting tour at the fish farm in the village Ropsha. Photo stop at Koporye Fortress. Guided tour of the Izhora Museum

    Arrival in Saint Petersburg.

09:00 Meeting with the guide at the monument to Peter the Great at the Moscow Railway Station, St. Petersburg. The sign "Greets Petersburg".

Transfer to the village of Ropsha.

10:30 Tasting tour at the fish farm in the village. Ropsha. The historic building of the imperial paper mill of the XVIII century houses the unique enterprise "Rak-sha" for the breeding of crayfish and other river and marine mollusks in the Northwest.

On the tour, we will immerse ourselves in the process of caring for and maintaining various species, and get acquainted with unique freshwater and seawater aquasystems.

We will have a meeting with the owners of the enterprise and a tasting of 3 types of seafood (oysters, sea urchins, scallops), accompanied by a drink of your choice.

13:30 Photo stop at Koporye Fortress. Koporskaya Fortress is an ancient outpost on a rocky promontory in the Leningrad region. Founded in the 13th century, it remembers Alexander Nevsky and the long disputes with the Swedes.

Today it is a museum with powerful towers, deep ravines and unique architecture: the gates are hidden in the wall, and only a narrow bridge leads to them. A place with a harsh character and a rich history.

Transfer to the village of Ruchi.

Visit to the Izhora Museum with a guided tour. There is a lot of talk about traditions and the preservation of traditions now. Small museums preserve the traditions of their peoples on the very border of our country. People gather at these museums, learn traditional crafts, engage in language clubs, and celebrate their holidays.

On this tour, we will visit the people of Izhora, learn about authentic local ceramics, and then meet the priest of the local Orthodox community and admire the beauty that the village community creates with their own hands: the restored St. Nicholas Church, the minisoopark and the syringarium.
