The "Small Imperial Court" was the name given to this palace before the revolution, one of the most famous grand ducal palaces in the city.
It was built for the beloved brother of Emperor Alexander III, Vladimir Alexandrovich, in the then fashionable eclectic style. Here, in the halls decorated with the richest collections of art objects, social life literally "boiled": balls, literary and musical evenings were organized.
Subsequently, the palace housed the House of Scientists.
