We will visit the outpost that fortified these territories for us, the sea fortress city of Kronstadt, and find out how the traditions of Peter the Great's time are preserved today. The symbol of Peter's victories were the ceremonial residences, built according to the tsar's plan on the shores of the Baltic Sea: Oranienbaum and Peterhof, which will appear before you in all their splendor.

Let's trace the formation of the capital of the Russian Empire and see the fruits of Peter the Great's plans, visit the places where the "Petrovsky century" still lives.
Thanks to the virtual reality glasses, we will look beyond the boundaries of the familiar world and see what is hidden from the eyes of the layman.
You will see the Peter and Paul Fortress, created during the Northern War, and Russia's first shipyard in the Baltic, the Admiralty, the first building in the city, the House of Peter the Great, and the first Summer Garden.
You will learn about the history of the magnificent Menshikov Palace, where the famous Petrovsky assemblies were once held, and the building of Russia's first museum, the Kunstkamera.
The traditional tour will be complemented by images of lost architectural monuments and panoramas of museums. It is enough just to put on special VR glasses at the right moment and immerse yourself in another world.

Day 2 - Country trip to Strelna. The Grand Peterhof Palace

Bus country tour to Strelna. You will see one of the ancient settlements on the shore of the Gulf of Finland, where a small Traveling palace was erected for Peter the Great. According to legend, it was next to him that potatoes were planted for the first time in Russia by decree of the tsar.
Here, according to his plan, they began to build a palace and park ensemble with fountains and cascades, but then they realized this idea in Peterhof. What was the fate of this area? And who owned the palace, which is now called the Palace of Congresses? We'll find out about it inside!
11:00 Guided tour of the Konstantinovsky Palace (Palace of Congresses) "The present century and the past century", where you will see the state halls and official apartments of the President of the Russian Federation, halls for meetings and negotiations in an informal setting, learn about the tragic times of decline and revival of Strelna.
Attention: during representative events, the Palace of Congresses is closed to visitors, in this case, it will be replaced by an excursion to the Menshikov Palace in St. Petersburg.
13:30 Petrovsky lunch at the Krasny Kabachok cafe in Peterhof for an additional fee (1300 rubles / 1400 rubles).

We will drive along the Western High–Speed Diameter, one of the most modern city highways, and next to it we will see the symbol of modern St. Petersburg: the Gazprom Tower (Lakhta Center), the 300th Anniversary of St. Petersburg Park.
As well as the Gazprom Arena stadium, the passenger seaport and the alluvial territories of Vasilyevsky Island are the Marine facade of St. Petersburg.
And then we will take a trip through the Complex of protective structures that carefully protects the city from floods. The dam will lead us to Kronstadt, a unique naval and military small town that is part of St. Petersburg.

I really enjoyed the tour, even despite the snowfall. The itinerary was packed with activities and experiences - so much so that by the second day we were feeling pleasantly tired. The lunches were excellent, and we were glad we chose to include them. The organization was outstanding, and our guide, Nelli, was wonderful. She shared a wealth of interesting information and presented it in a way that kept everyone engaged throughout the trip. The Druzhba Hotel was quite good overall. The breakfasts offered a wide variety of dishes, and the location was convenient, not far from the city center. There was also a supermarket nearby, which was very handy. A few practical notes for future travelers: standard rooms are equipped with 2 separate beds rather than 1 large bed. Slippers and bathrobes are not provided. A hairdryer was available, but the complimentary shower gel and shampoo packets were quite small .
