St. Isaac's Cathedral is a masterpiece of world architecture – it is the fourth largest church building in the world. During the tour, you will learn why it was built four times and why it is so closely associated with the name of the founder of our city, Emperor Peter I.
The magnificent interior of the cathedral is amazing – a spectacular combination of gilding, colored glass, lapis lazuli and malachite, paintings and mosaics by famous artists, statues and sculptural groups.
The cathedral was rebuilt, closed, and its columns were scarred by Nazi shells.… But the swarthy gold of its domes still shines in the St. Petersburg sky.
