About the Kiiskil estate.
There are many amazing turns in the history of the estate. The first mention of the manor dates back to 1562. In 1816, the owner of the manor, Friedrich Dannenberg, built the main manor house designed by a French architect. Frederick's daughter, Julia Dorothea, linked her life with Leopold Kron, the son of the first Russian industrial brewer Abraham Kron, whose success is associated with Empress Catherine II.
Over the next two centuries, the main building of the estate managed to visit a family nest, a home for the disabled, a military hospital, an orphanage, and a pioneer camp. In 2016, the estate began its second life under the guidance of renowned Russian surgeon Ilya Sleptsov.
Today, the Kiiskil estate consists of ancient buildings of the 19th century, new buildings in the authentic style of Finnish wooden architecture, its own brewery, the picturesque coast of the Gulf of Finland, the opportunity to ride a boat or kayak, amazing stories for children and adults, and even a tram route.
A large-scale restoration of cultural heritage sites is currently underway on the estate, and soon a unique cultural complex will appear in the Leningrad Region, which will consist of several museums, an exhibition hall, a conference center, a landscape park, guest accommodation buildings, a vineyard and an apothecary's garden. The project is still far from being completed, but what has already been done is impressive.
The program for the guests of the estate includes:
- a sightseeing tour, during which guests will hear a fascinating story about the history of the place, its inhabitants and amazing turns in their destinies, the revival of the estate and unique restoration works.;
- visit to the ancient cellar;
- beer tasting from the brewery as a gift;
- visiting the manor's pets – yaks and rare Highland cows.
