Day 1 - Departure to St. Petersburg
22:00 Gathering of the group in Moscow: VDNKh metro station, parking lot to the right of the Kosmos Hotel.
22:30 Departure to St. Petersburg (travel time about 12 hours, ~700 km).
Overnight transfer (2-3 sanitary stops along the way).
23:30 Boarding in Solnechnogorsk (Tasty — and-point cafe, Krasnaya str., 118) (by prior arrangement).

The ancient city of Vyborg was built as a powerful fortress on the coast of the Karelian Isthmus. Having stood for seven centuries, the city was repeatedly subjected to devastating fires, participated in wars, but at the same time retained its fabulous charm.
A walking tour of the center of Vyborg will tell you about the history of the city, its legends and secrets. You will see the Market Square, the Peter and Paul Cathedral, the Transfiguration Cathedral, the Panzerlaks bastion, and the Town Hall Tower.
A tour of Castle Island with an inspection of the symbol of the city – the medieval knightly Vyborg Castle, an external inspection of the St. Olaf Tower (ascent to the observation deck of the tower is currently impossible, the tower is under reconstruction).
The Vyborg Castle Museum also has exhibitions that can be visited additionally in your free time: knight's hall, torture chamber, pottery workshop, archery range, forge, expositions "Underwater Archeology", "Nature of the Karelian Isthmus", "Swedish Vyborg".

You can discover the amazing architecture of functionalism by visiting the only library in Russia, designed by the outstanding Finnish architect Alvar Aalto. This building was built specifically to house a library, taking into account all the processes taking place in the book house.
A master class on baking a real Vyborg pretzel.
You will learn about its history, recipes and participate in the manufacturing process yourself. We will try two authentic recipes: the medieval one according to the recipe of the Old Woman Marin (rye without yeast) and Viiperinrinkelli, baked on straw (fluffy, yeast).

Day 4 - Saint-Petersburg

Granites have been mined on the Karelian Isthmus and the coast of the Gulf of Finland (the territory of modern Finland) since the first half of the XVIII century. A durable and beautiful stone was required for St. Petersburg, which was under construction.
A significant role in creating the unique and unrepeatable appearance of St. Petersburg, its "slender, austere appearance" was played by the widespread use of various natural stones, including Vyborg granite.
Examples of the use of highly decorative red and pink granite rapakivi Vyborg massif in the late 18th and 19th centuries include the majestic exterior colonnade of St. Isaac's Cathedral, the interior colonnades of Kazan Cathedral and the New Hermitage, the Alexander Column on Palace Square, and the embankments in the center of St. Petersburg.
We will dedicate this day to the granite decoration of St. Petersburg.

My daughter and I took the St. Petersburg Collection tour for 7 days, and I highly recommend it for first-time visitors to the city like us. The tour is well-designed, allowing you to see the main attractions in a short period of time. A great advantage is that you can join on any day. Everything was well-organized—excellent guides, comfortable buses, and provided radio headsets for better communication. There were no delays or long waits. The schedule was planned in a way that left plenty of free time in the evenings for walks or additional sightseeing. The tour package includes hotel accommodation, with several options to choose from. I stayed at the Rossiya Hotel near Pobeda Park and was very satisfied. The rooms were clean, with daily housekeeping, fresh towels, and air conditioning—which was perfect given the pleasant temperatures of 24–30°C during our stay. A buffet breakfast was included—simple but sufficient to start the day. It was really convenient, as we would bring a small snack for the day and have dinner somewhere in central St. Petersburg. The hotel is within walking distance of the blue metro line, making it easy to reach the city center without transfers. There’s also a supermarket nearby, along with plenty of street food options. It’s also worth mentioning that additional excursions are available. We took a boat trip to the forts of Kronstadt and joined a nighttime tour to see the city's famous drawbridges—both were unforgettable experiences
