Day 1 - Excursion to Torzhok, master class and lunch at Daria Pozharskaya's

The ancient city of Torzhok is a cozy corner of the Tver region, which has preserved the atmosphere of the province of pre—revolutionary times.
The town became famous for one of the oldest monasteries and pozharsky cutlets, which were sung in his poems by Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin.
On a sightseeing tour, we will get acquainted with the main sights of Torzhok.
Few cities in the world can boast that they are the birthplace of a famous gastronomic brand that has gained worldwide fame.
But the small Russian town of Torzhok, located in the Tver region, is famous not only for the fact that it is one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in Russia, but also for the fact that it was here, in the Pozharsky hotel, in the first half of the XIX century, they came up with a recipe for cutlets, which were called Pozharsky.
Cafe "Lira" has chosen for its guests an original recipe from 1853, which was printed in the "Almanac of Gastronomies" by professional chef Ignat Radetsky.
This is the only recipe that was published during Daria Pozharskaya's lifetime.
It was she who prepared her signature dish for the guests.

Day 4 - Alexander Palace. Departure

In the northern part of the picturesque Alexander Park stands a magnificent building with a two—century history — the New Tsarskoye Selo (later Alexander) Palace.
It was laid in 1792 by order of Catherine II and was built for the wedding of her beloved grandson, Grand Duke Alexander Pavlovich (future Emperor Alexander I) with Grand Duchess Elizabeth Alekseevna.
The architectural design of the Alexander Palace belongs to the famous Italian architect D. Quarenghi.
Since 1904, the Alexander Palace has become the permanent residence of Emperor Nicholas II, who was born here in 1868 and treated Tsarskoye Selo with special warmth.
The last 13 years of the reign of the Russian emperor were spent here; from here, on the morning of August 1, 1917, the imperial family was sent into exile to Tobolsk.
At the beginning of the XX century, almost all important events related to Russian state life took place in the Alexander Palace: receptions of ambassadors and foreign figures, celebrations of anniversaries — the 300th anniversary of the House of Romanov and the 200th anniversary of Tsarskoye Selo.
In September 2015, the Alexander Palace Museum was closed to visitors for the duration of restoration work.
And now the guests of the palace can see the Reception Room, Study, Moorish, Valet and Ceremonial study (half of Emperor Nicholas II), Suite, Bedroom, Lilac study, Rosewood and Maple living room (half of Empress Alexandra Feodorovna), as well as the Corner living room and Library rooms.
The rest of the palace is still undergoing restoration.
A walk through the Catherine Park.
Along with the palace complex, parks are an integral part of the Tsarskoye Selo Imperial residence, primarily the main ones — Catherine and Alexander, which received these names from the palaces located in them.
Catherine Park consists of two parts: a regular Old garden and a landscape English park.

Visit to the Fedorovsky Cathedral.
The Feodorovsky Sovereign's Cathedral majestically towers over the Fedorovsky town – barracks for the regiments of the imperial family.

An unforgettable and magnificent trip! Our guide, Galina, was truly a professional—knowledgeable and engaging. We stayed at the Moscow Hotel, which offered a delicious breakfast and rooms with stunning views of the Neva River. The location was excellent, just a 20-minute walk along Nevsky Prospekt to the city center and train station, and conveniently close to the metro. The "Highlights of St. Petersburg" program was absolutely fantastic. A big thank you to the tour team! I highly recommend Big Country to everyone.
