Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Sightseeing tour of Vyterga. Visit to the museums "Waterways of the North" and "Submarine B-440"

Transfer to Vytegra. A guided tour, with everyday stops along the way.

14:00 Arrival in Vytegra. Accommodation in the Vardencliff VolgoBalt hotel complex.

The hotel complex is located in the historical part of Vytegra, on the site of the former Vyanginskaya pier.

It is a unique architectural structure in a strict classical style, consisting of 4 floors and a Lighthouse tower. The tower has a cozy library and an observation deck.

Lunch at the hotel (extra charge).

The restaurant combines a cozy atmosphere, fine cuisine and a European-style elegant interior.

Sightseeing tour of the city. Undoubtedly, anyone who has visited Vytegra will be interested in the unique nature and history of our ancient region, its centuries-old traditions, original folk culture and crafts.

Peter I and Catherine II left their mark here, great construction projects took place here, marked by the appearance of the Mariinsky and Volga-Baltic canals, and bloody battles took place here during the Great Patriotic War.

You will visit the embankment of the Vytegra River, which has become the pride of the Vytegorovs. This is a rare case when a new object fits perfectly into the urban landscape and at the same time has historical and cultural components.

During the tour, you will see the Sretensky Church, the chapel of St. Isaac of Dolmatsky, admire the panorama of the city, and hear a story about the history of Vytegra.

Visit to the museum "Waterways of the North". The “bridge between the seas" is the name of the Volga-Baltic Waterway, thanks to which many guests arrive in Vytegra on tourist ships.

Since ancient times, it has played an important role, connecting vast regions of the country, opening the way for Russia to the West and East. Its history is a chronicle of distant campaigns, bold plans and grandiose construction projects, which is told by the updated exposition of the Waterways of the North Museum.

Visit to the museum "Submarine B-440". The boat was laid down on June 1, 1970 at the Novo-Admiralteiskiy Plant in Leningrad, and launched on September 16, 1970. Most of the compartments are completely preserved.

During the tour, you will have a unique opportunity to explore the cabins and public areas of the 1st and 2nd decks of the submarine.

Return to the hotel. Free time.

I'm so glad I chose the 'Across the Expanses of Perm the Great' tour in July 2024. It was a high-quality, engaging, and thoughtfully designed journey through the entire Perm region. The trip was full of fascinating discoveries: ancient monasteries, unique museums, the distinctive Permian animal style and wooden deities, the history of salt production and the Stroganovs in the Urals, and much more. The natural beauty of Parma was breathtaking: dense forests, countless rivers, mountains, and even an ice cave. The hotels were comfortable, and the breakfasts and lunches were tasty, often featuring elements of local cuisine. Traveling in a small group made the experience even more enjoyable, after all, it's usually seasoned travelers who venture to the Perm region. One special moment was when we all got to bake and taste traditional gingerbread made from an old recipe, for many of us, it was a first. Huge thanks to our amazing guide, Andrey, and to Venaris, our incredibly skilled driver!
