Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Arrival in Magadan

    Meeting place and time of the group: at 22:00 at the Magadan bus station.

    Arrival in Magadan at any time before 20:00, the distance from the airport to the city is 50 km. 

    Today we are waiting for a night transfer towards the village of Yagodnoye.

    For those who arrive the day before / in the morning and have plenty of time, we recommend that your body adjust to a new time zone. 

    How can I spend this day? Relax and get some sleep or visit the local attractions and take a walk around the city. 

    Magadan is the capital of Kolyma

    It is famous for its harsh climate, but it is worth dedicating at least a day to the city. 

    Walking along the shore of the Sea of Okhotsk overlooking the nearby hills, the atmospheric lighthouse and the monument "Mask of Sorrow", modern cafes with panoramic views and cultural buildings rich in history will not leave you indifferent.

    At 22:00 general assembly, departure towards the village of Yagodnoye, acquaintance and briefing on the road.

It's important to know

Personal equipment you need for the tour

The hike is a trekking with backpacks, where we carry groceries, personal and public equipment on ourselves. Therefore, you need a good physical shape and a comfortable backpack with a hard back and a wide waist belt.

It is also necessary to be mentally prepared for the difficulties associated with changing weather conditions: from warm sunny weather to strong winds and cold rain and snow. You need to pay as much attention to your equipment as possible.

Equipment:

  • backpack 80-100 l. (hard back, comfortable and wide waist belt) + small lightweight backpack for radial exits;
  • a cape for a backpack from the rain;
  • travel mat;
  • Sleeping bag (comfort temperature 0/-5);
  • trekking poles (preferably with ClickLock or FlickLock clips);
  • elastic band seat (hob);
  • headlamp flashlight + spare set of batteries;
  • climbing equipment for those wishing to climb the Aborigine: helmet, safety system, self-safety mustache with carabiners, prusik / zhumar.

Clothing and shoes:

  • trekking boots (ankle is fixed, thick sole). We wear new shoes 10 days before the hike;
  • fords to overcome fords (chovers are not suitable)
  • sports sandals or crocs for camp/ baths;
  • gaiters / "lanterns" (worn over boots, protect from snow and debris);
  • wind and moisture proof jacket and trousers (membrane);
  • running pants;
  • insulated jacket;
  • fleece jacket;
  • thermal underwear 2 sets (running and sleeping);
  • T-shirt or long sleeve shirt;
  • 1-2 T-shirts (preferably synthetic);
  • trekking socks (2-3 pairs, synthetic);
  • socks are warm;
  • hat 2 pcs. (light and warm), buff, 2 pairs of gloves (light fleece and warm).

What else to take:

  • tableware (plate, mug, spoon, knife - not ceramic, matches in hermetically sealed);
  • personal hygiene products;
  • first aid kit is personal, in case of chronic diseases (the instructor will have a public first aid kit with a standard set of medicines) + elastic bandage, sterile bandage — 2 pcs., chlorhexidine in small. in a bottle, a rolled patch on a fabric base, wide;
  • a set of threads with a needle;
  • thermos flask (0.5–0.7 liters);
  • individual 0.5 l water bottle.;
  • 1 l. breadcrumbs (you can put them in a juice tetrapack for 1 l.);
  • personal pocket snack (nuts, bars);
  • mosquito and midge repellent;
  • 3-4 m rope, durable (for drying clothes, repairs);
  • suntan facial cream (50 ml is enough for several people);
  • lipstick is hygienic;
  • sunglasses that do not transmit ultraviolet light.
