There are many picturesque resorts in the Caucasus where you can enjoy skiing or snowboarding, as well as enjoy the unforgettable scenery of the snow—capped mountains - we will visit three of them in a week.

Mamison, the youngest in Russia, opened in March 2025, is waiting for us first in Ossetia, followed by the resort in the Tseysky Gorge, one of the oldest ski resorts in the Caucasus: there are seven trails of different difficulty levels, one cable car and two equipment rental points. It is comfortable for beginners to ride in the "Cea": there are no strong height differences.

Let's move to Chechnya and go for a ride in Veduchi, which is considered an entry-level ski resort, but of very good quality. The resort continues to develop and in 2025 it is planned to open new trails, a gondola cable car and a snow park. A special children's park is equipped for the training of small skiers.

Day 2 - Ski resort "Mamison" and "Tsey". Thermal springs in Upper Biragzanga
08:30 After breakfast we will go to the ski resorts of Mamison and Cei.
The unique Tsey Gorge is the most beautiful corner of the Caucasus and the majestic Mamison.
Moving along the military Ossetian road in the Alagir gorge, to the right along the route, attention is attracted by a mighty sculptural composition.
The sanctuary and the rock monument of Uastyrdzhi, who is one of the main characters of the folk Nart epic and the divine patron saint of Ossetia.
10:00 a.m. We arrive and begin exploring the Mamison ski resort.
Mamison is now the youngest ski resort in Russia, officially opened in March 2025.
8 trails with a total length of 14 kilometers have already been built.
The resort itself begins at 2025 m above sea level from Kalak station, and the highest developed point today using lifts is located at an altitude of 2950 m, Zaramag 1 and 2 stations.
It is expected that over time, the upper station will be located at an altitude of more than 4,000 m.
The instructors will help you pick up the equipment, get ski passes and start rolling out the slopes on skis and snowboards, depending on the level of training.
Beginners will be able to use the services of instructors on the "green" track, experienced riders will immediately start with the more difficult ones.
We enjoy skiing, stunning views and active recreation on the ski slopes of Mamison.

Day 3 - Ski resort "Mamison" and "Tsey". Thermal springs in Upper Biragzanga
08:30 After breakfast we will go to the ski resorts of Mamison and Cei.
We will continue to roll out the already familiar Mamison trails, and those who wish will be able to enjoy the extraordinary beauty of the Tsey Gorge and roll down the slopes from the Skazsky glacier to the foot of Monakh Mountain, the motionless and harsh guardian of Tsey.
From Transkam we will turn to the Tseysky Gorge or Tseyskaya horseshoe.
The gorge has been sacred to Ossetians for many centuries — the most iconic places of worship and places of power are located here — ancient Albanian historical and religious buildings.
The Tsey Gorge is a state nature reserve, and the figure of the patron saint Afsati at the entrance symbolizes protection for everyone living in this beautiful corner of the Caucasus.
Tsei is one of the oldest ski resorts in the Caucasus, it has existed since the seventies of the last century — "Here the peaks and glaciers look golden at dawn, like the frozen sky": bard Yuri Vizbor.
The slopes of Cei are great for both professionals and beginners.
The ski resort has trails up to 3 kilometers long.
The height difference between the upper and lower stations is 500 meters.
All the tracks are on the same slope and run along the gorge.
The most difficult ones are in the upper part of the slope.

Day 5 - Transfer to the Chechen Republic, Veduchi ski resort
09:00 After an early breakfast, transfer (185 km, 4 hours) to the Chechen Republic, Veduchi ski resort.
We will go to the resort along the picturesque Argun gorge, it will be a busy route and breathtaking locations.
A road cut out of limestone cliffs leads up the gorge of the turbulent river Chanta-Argun.
On the way, we will turn off to the Nihaloyevsky waterfalls.
Overhanging cliffs on one side and a fast mountain river on the other will allow you to enjoy the magical scenery, breathe in the purest mountain air and take impressive photos.
Next, there will be a meeting with the Ushkaloy Twin Towers located under a steep slope - one of the symbols of Chechnya.
Using their example, we will reveal the history of watchtowers and signal towers, what function they have performed over the centuries.
In the village of Itum-Kali, we will visit the museum of local lore on the territory of the Phakoch castle complex.
Let's get acquainted with the history and way of life of Chechens since the Middle Ages.
14:00 We arrive at the Veduchi ski resort.
We check into hotels and are instructed on the rules of safety and behavior at the resort.
Veduchi is considered an entry-level ski resort, but of very good quality.
The resort continues to develop and in 2025 it is planned to open new trails, a gondola cable car and a snow park.
The length of the only highway today is no more than 1,000 meters from a height of 1,560 m.
The route is marked as "blue", i.e. a moderate route.
There is also a gentle training slope and an extreme tubing slide.
A special children's park is equipped for the training of small skiers.
We enjoy the picturesque views and open spaces complemented by Caucasian hospitality at the Veduchi resort in Chechnya.

Day 6 - Veduchi Ski Slopes
Today we will devote ourselves entirely to skiing, enjoying skiing and stunning views in the mountains of the Chechen Republic.
For lunch or dinner, you should definitely try dishes of national cuisine: zizhig-galnash, chepalgash, khingalsh with herbal mountain tea.

Vertical is a European—class hotel located in the village of Verkhny Tsey. It provides its guests with a wide range of entertainment such as horseback riding, paintball and a disco club. You can always visit the sauna or swim in the pool.

The three-storey hotel building has 8 luxury rooms, which are divided into "double" rooms and "luxury" class rooms. But regardless of this, they are all very comfortable and cozy. The price fully corresponds to their quality. The private bathroom must have a shower, sink and toilet.

There are 17 spacious barnhouses within walking distance of the ski lifts. Each house with an area of 70 square meters can comfortably accommodate four people. Barbecues and a shared campfire area on site allow for a large barbecue after an active day in the mountains.

I would especially like to highlight the excellent organization of the tour. Everything was arranged at the highest level: comfortable minibus transfers, well-located hotels, precise scheduling, and great attention to detail. I was particularly impressed that we traveled through Dagestan and Chechnya during the holy month of Ramadan, when Muslims observe strict fasting. Because of this, many cafés and restaurants were closed during the day, and even some grocery stores were not operating. Nevertheless, this did not prevent us from discovering the delicious Caucasian cuisine, hearty breakfasts and lunches were organized for us everywhere we went. I would also like to thank our guides for their courtesy, punctuality, and the fascinating way they introduced us to the culture and traditions of the peoples of the Caucasus.
