Ski weekend in Ossetia

08:30 After breakfast we leave for the ski resorts of Mamison and Cei.

The unique Tsey Gorge is the most beautiful corner of the Caucasus and the majestic Mamison.

The day will be full of impressions: high mountains, colorful gorges, glaciers, waterfalls and iconic places of attraction of the ancient history of Ossetia.

Moving along the military Ossetian road in the Alagir gorge, to the right along the way, attention is attracted by a mighty sculptural composition.

The sanctuary and the rock monument of Uastyrdzhi, who is one of the main characters of the folk Nart epic and the divine patron saint of Ossetia.

10:00 a.m. We arrive and begin exploring the Mamison ski resort.

With the opening of the resort, a second life came to the inaccessible gorge.

Among the ruins of ancestral towers and temples, the mountain resort seems designed to combine history and modernity, age-old traditions and sports.

Mamison is now the youngest ski resort in Russia, officially opened in March 2025.

8 trails with a total length of 14 kilometers have already been built.

The resort itself begins at 2025 m above sea level from Kalak station, and the highest developed point today using lifts is located at an altitude of 2950 m, Zaramag 1 and 2 stations.

It is expected that over time, the upper station will be located at an altitude of more than 4,000 m.

The instructors will help you pick up the equipment, get ski passes and start rolling out the slopes on skis and snowboards, depending on the level of training.

Beginners will be able to use the services of instructors on the "green" track, experienced riders will immediately start with the more difficult ones.

19:30-21:30 Alan evening show program in ethno-national style with dinner and tasting (extra charge) on Fridays in Vladikavkaz.

We will continue to roll out the already familiar Mamison trails, and those who wish will be able to enjoy the extraordinary beauty of the Tsey Gorge and roll down the slopes from the Skazsky glacier to the foot of Monakh Mountain, the motionless and harsh guardian of Tsey.

From Transkam we will turn to the Tseysky Gorge or Tseyskaya horseshoe.

The gorge has been sacred to Ossetians for many centuries — the most iconic places of worship and places of power are located here — ancient Albanian historical and religious buildings.

The Tsey Gorge is a state nature reserve, and the figure of the patron saint Afsati at the entrance symbolizes protection for everyone living in this beautiful corner of the Caucasus.

Tsei is one of the oldest ski resorts in the Caucasus, which has existed since the seventies of the last century. "Here, peaks and glaciers look golden at dawn, like a frozen sky": bard Yuri Vizbor.

The slopes of Cei are great for both professionals and beginners.

The ski resort has trails up to 3 kilometers long.

The height difference between the upper and lower stations is 500 meters.

All the tracks are on the same slope and run along the gorge.

The most difficult ones are in the upper part of the slope.

A relaxing rest, complementing an eventful day, will restore your energy and add positive emotions (we recommend taking bathing accessories, towels and flip-flops).

10:00 a.m. Today, you can have time to ride a little more on the already beloved ski slopes, enjoying the views of the mountains, fresh air and adrenaline rush.
