Day 1 - Arrival in Perm. White stones, Usva pillars, Stone City

07:00-09:30 The road to Chusovaya. Travel tour.
We pass the lands where in 1580 there was the border of Russia, and then there was an unconquered territory.

11:30-13:00 Walk to the observation deck of the Usvinsky pillars with an inspection of the Devil's Finger and a visit to the Stolbovaya grotto (2 km on foot).

Day 2 - Polyud Mountain and Vetlan Rock observation deck. The road to Solikamsk

The history of Krasnovishersk is interesting for the Vishersk Pulp and Paper Mill, on whose paper the collected works of V.I. Lenin and other important publications were printed in Soviet times. And also with the rich development of diamond mining.
Krasnovishersky district has been frequently featured in various modern films lately. Many scenes are shot on Polyud, Vetlan and in the vicinity of the city.
12:30-14:30 Snowmobile drop (in a sleigh) on the Polyud stone.
The walking part is 3 km (a sledge ride to the foot of the mountain is 5.5 km in one direction. 1.5 km ascent to the top of Mount Polyud).
The height of Mount Polyud is 527 meters above sea level, it is the highest point of the Polyud ridge. There are many interesting legends associated with Polyud. They all boil down to the fact that Polyud is the name of a strong hero (or giant) who lived in the distant past on the Vishera land.
On the mountain, you can find a trace of Poluda, namely weathering in the shape of a foot of about 80th size.

16:00-18:00 Snowmobile ride (in a sleigh) to the observation deck of the Vetlan rock.
The height of Vetlan Mountain is 263 meters above sea level. Legends say that this is the second strongest hero (or giant) of these places.
18:00 Departure to Solikamsk – the birthplace of salt production.
At the end of the XVII century, Solikamsk was the center of Russian salt production: the annual production volume in the city and county at 231 varnits was 7 million pounds of salt, which was 70% of the total Russian production.
Salting was the only way to preserve food until the early 20th century. Salt ran out – the food base of the population was shrinking – cities were dying out.

Inspection of an ancient salt well.
Inspection of the Epiphany Cathedral with an iconostasis with icons of Stroganov writing.
Visit to the observation deck at the Cathedral Bell Tower.
In 1430, Vologda merchants Kalinikov organized salt crafts here. On the banks of the Usolka River (a tributary of the Kama River), pickle-lifting pipes and salt evaporators were built.
Thanks to the salt, the settlement grew and developed rapidly, soon becoming the salt capital of Russia.
Salt was highly valued at that time (no worse than oil at the present time). Solikamsk is a derivative of the old name of the city of Sol-Kamskaya.
And it was from Solikamsk in 1581 that Ermak began his campaign to annex Siberia with the money of the Stroganovs, the main salt producers. After all, it was the Stroganovs who equipped Ermak for the campaign and gave him the most advanced equipment of that time.
The Stroganovs also had permission from Ivan the Terrible to maintain their own army, imagine what a credit they had!
11:00-11:30 Transfer to Usolye.
Usolye was founded in 1606 by the famous Stroganov dynasty of salt industrialists and became the "capital" of their possessions for a long century.
The Stroganovs were so close to the power circles that they were allowed to have their own army.
11:30-13:00 Usolye Excursion – "Ural Venice".
Inspection of the Transfiguration Cathedral, the Golitsyn estate, the falling bell tower and the Stroganov Chambers (this is a real house-palace, the uniqueness of which lies in the fact that architecture with a pronounced Moscow style of the XVII century, combined with elements of nature of the Northern Kama region).
13:00-13:30 Transfer to Berezniki. Travel tour.
It was founded in 1932 in connection with the development of a deposit of potassium and magnesium salts. A major center of the chemical industry.
The city got its name from the Bereznikovsky saltworks, and the fishery was called "Bereznikovsky" because it was located on Berezovy Island.
14:00-15:00 Lunch at a cafe in the city.
15:00 Departure to Perm.
18:30 is the approximate time of the group's return to Perm.

We advise you to evaluate your physical abilities as much as possible. Despite the fact that in general we will get to the peaks in a snowmobile sleigh, climbing the Pole may seem difficult for unprepared tourists.

The Berezniki Hotel is located in the center of the city of the same name in the Perm Region.

It's important to know

The form of clothing is warm, sporty and loose, suitable for weather conditions. Be sure to have good, comfortable trekking shoes.

You need to take with you:

A thermos of tea and a small backpack for a snack.
Be sure to take a headlamp with spare batteries.
Hiking shoe covers for feet (protection from snow getting into shoes).
Trekking poles (if available). For people who have problems with joints, it is a must. The sticks will reduce the load on the knees when climbing the Pole.
Spare replacement shoes and clothes for the bus. After visiting natural sites (most likely), some of the clothes and shoes will be damp or wet.
Personal belongings for hotel accommodation.

A memo on clothes for snowmobiling (in a sleigh):

In cold weather, multi-layered clothing will help to keep body heat longer, protect against winds and prevent frostbite. use a warm jacket and pants (or a ski suit).
Be sure to wear a scarf and a headdress (if possible, a balaclava).
We recommend having protective glasses - they will protect your eyes from snow, fine ice, and also save you from the wind and the blinding sun.
Gloves should preferably be worn with a fleece or wool lining, they should keep your hands warm, reliably protect from moisture and wind.
To keep your feet warm, we recommend wearing thermal socks (it is better to take an extra pair with you on a trip).
Shoes should be warm and comfortable for conditions when you are not on the move.
