Day 1 - Vyshny Volochok

Transfer to Vyshny Volochyok.
Guided tour of the Vyshnevolotsk Museum of Local Lore at the exhibition "Vyshnevolotsk water system". The Vyshnevolotsk water system is a waterway in Russia, with a watershed near the town of Vyshny Volochyok.
The oldest artificial water system in Russia, which connected the central part of the country and the Volga region with the new capital of the state – the city of St. Petersburg and solved the issue of food supply to St. Petersburg in the XVIII-IX centuries.
The largest hydraulic engineering system in Europe at the end of the XVIII century. Transit traffic throughout the entire system of large vessels (barges) began in 1713 and ceased in 1893.
Here in the museum we will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the unique collection of Vyshnevolotsk household and art glass of the XIX-XXI centuries, numbering more than 600 objects of the "Russian miracle", as it was called at all times.
It was at the Krasny May factory that the ruby stars of the Kremlin were made, which still shine over Moscow!

Sightseeing tour of the city. We will immerse ourselves in the atmosphere of Vyshny Volochok. Surrounded by water channels and islands, this unique city has a rich history and used to play an important role in the trade route "from the Varangians to the Greeks."
At the beginning of the 18th century, Peter the Great radically changed the appearance of the city by building Europe's first artificial water system.
During the tour, you will see the monument to Venetsianov, reflecting the spirit of quiet village life, and the bronze statue of Catherine II, which stands proudly at the Drama Theater.
You will also see a unique "double" monument to Peter I and Mikhail Serdyukov, key figures in the history of the city.

Day 2 - Peterhof – Kronstadt

Day 3 - Schlisselburg

Country trip "To the sources of the Neva River" in Shlisselburg – klyuch-gorod. We will take a trip to the past of the Prince's lands and go to the Shlisselburg Bay of Lake Ladoga, where the Oreshek fortress awaits us on a small Orekhov Island.
It is also Noteburg and Schlisselburg. Why are there so many names? Who founded it, and to whom did it belong? We'll find out about this on the way to the fortress.
Shlisselburg is a small town located in the east of St. Petersburg, was founded in the 14th century.
During its long history, it has changed several names: the founders gave the first name of the Nut, the second – Noteburg (nut city) - the conquerors- the Swedes. The modern version was given by Peter I, who hoped to defeat the Swedes and reach the North Sea.

The name means "key city". The main milestones in the history of the city are connected with the Oreshek defensive fortress, which played an important role in the Northern War of Peter the Great and in the Great Patriotic War of the 20th century.
In 1941-1944, the fortress was not captured by the Germans and remained the front line of defense of Leningrad, it was the defenders of the fortress who did not allow the Nazis to close the blockade ring. All the heroes of the fortress died, but they saved more than a million lives in the besieged city.
Transfer by boat to Orekhovy Island (10-15 minutes).
Sightseeing tour of the Oreshek Fortress, one of the oldest Russian fortresses in Northwestern Russia. You will learn about the most important historical events that unfolded on the small Orekhov Island in different eras.
In the 14th century, Prince Yuri Danilovich of Novgorod (grandson of Alexander Nevsky) built a fortress on the island.
At the beginning of the 18th century, when it belonged to the Swedes, Russian troops under the command of Peter's associate Boris Sheremetev successfully captured it. "... this nut was very cruel, but, thank God, it was happily gnawed..." the tsar noted.
This opened the way to the Baltic Sea. And the fortress became a political prison, among the prisoners of which was the first wife of Peter the Great, Evdokia Lopukhina.
Transfer by boat to Shlisselburg.

Sightseeing tour of Schlisselburg, during which you will see the famous Ladoga Canal, laid under Peter the Great "to avert the danger of navigation", a huge admiralty anchor of the Peter the Great era, raised from the bottom of the Neva.
