Itinerary

Day 1 - Transfer from Komsomolsk-on-Amur to the shore of Nikolai Bay
The expedition to the island in Kitovaya Gavan starts from the city of Komsomolsk-on-Amur, where we recommend arriving the day before the start of the transfer.
Starting at 05:00 in the morning, you will have a long journey (from 16-24 hours, or even 2 days) along unique routes, where the absence of highways and highways makes the trip an adventure.
Over the course of 600 km, you will overcome the wild, rugged taiga expanses and a ferry crossing, which will add a touch of adventurous spirit to the journey.
Meals on the way will be simple but satisfying: sandwiches, vegetables, fruits and hot drinks will help maintain strength at this difficult stage.
We will finish on the shore of the Bay of Nicholas, where the first stop awaits you. Here you can relax after a long journey in a cozy place, although the conditions will be quite austere.
Remember that nature can make its own adjustments, and a delay at the base is possible depending on weather conditions, but it is in such conditions that a real connection with wildlife is born!
Please note that the conditions at the transshipment base are quite austere and field-like, but everything you need to wash up after a long journey and spend the night in a warm space is there.
Accommodation at the transshipment base is shared, 5-6 people each in comfortable tents with a stove.
Accommodation at the transshipment base may take a day or more, depending on weather conditions (storm, fog, low tide), which do not allow our ships to set sail.
Day 2 - Arrival on the island
The next day after the transfer, we wait for all the necessary things and equipment, including food, to be loaded onto the boat. After that, at high tide and on the orders of the captain, we load onto the boat and depart for the main camp, on our island, the journey time will be from 1 to 3 hours, as we may encounter whales along the way. and killer whales and watch them.
Upon arrival on the island, we settle in comfortable tents for 2-3 people. Families with children can accommodate 3-4 people each.
If you initially bought the tour together, then your accommodation in the tent will be with the person with whom you arrived. If you arrive alone, then the accommodation in tents is random, it is possible to stay with people of the opposite sex.
If you are afraid of living with people of the opposite sex or do not want to live in a tent with a stranger, then we have a paid "single room" service for you. Plus 50,000 rubles to the cost of the tour and you live comfortably in a tent alone. The "single room" service is paid upon conclusion of the contract and does not change or recalculate at the end of the tour, regardless of the number of nights spent on the island.
We get to know the team, get instructed on the rules of behavior and living on the island, on safety rules and techniques, including fire safety in a tent camp, as well as on the rules of staying on board a boat /boat, etc. swimming facilities, including sup-board and when hiking and sailing, as well as while observing mammals.
After the briefing, you sign in special safety journals that you are familiar with, aware of, and agree to comply with the company's internal rules.
If the weather permits, we go out for a training lesson in the bay on walking on a SUP board, take a practical exam to the instructor, after which we can go out into the bay and watch whales and seals from the SUP board or from the shore.
We are discussing the program of hiking and boating, making adjustments individually for each group, depending on your wishes, and, of course, on the weather conditions and migration of whales and killer whales.
Marine mammals are free wild animals, and the company cannot guarantee their presence in the bay, but we will do our best to find and show them to you.
You can take part in the beautification of the camp area, the initiative to improve the aesthetics of the surrounding area is welcome.
In the evenings, spend time around the campfire, chat with each other, relax, you can use our library, order a hookah, etc.

If the weather permits, we go out on the SUP board and watch whales and seals from the SUP board or from the shore (we only watch killer whales from the shore or boat).

Under the guidance of experienced freediving instructors, you will immerse yourself in the world of sea giants in their natural habitat.;
You will be among the first to make an unforgettable dive into the depths of the Sea of Okhotsk, watch friendly sea seals underwater or from the saps, and experience the feeling of weightlessness in underwater space.
From day 3 to 5, the group will make an expedition, which includes:
guided tour of Nicholas Bay, sea crossings to picturesque places with incredibly beautiful places, cliffs, rocky beaches, where the probability of getting close to whales and killer whales is almost 98 %;
excursion "hike to Cape Tugurka" with a colorful panoramic view of the Bay of Nicholas and Cape Lamsdorf. Depending on the weather conditions, as well as the time of the tides, hiking is possible with a boat trip and disembarkation in the bay, or for the most advanced adventurers, a completely hiking route along the coast with climbing to altitude and passing the taiga trail.;
guided tour of the bay to Cape Lamsdorf, where you can admire the picturesque rocky shores and cliffs up close, as if carved from the depths of the sea;
an excursion to the most mysterious place of the surroundings called "zimushka". In Soviet times, there was an operating gold mine in this place, where goldsmiths worked, now it is a fishing lodge and a place where we will arrive and go rafting on SUP-boards along the river, and after the rafting we will drink tea brewed from harvested local herbs and berries.;
for fishing enthusiasts, depending on the weather conditions and the time of pink salmon spawning, we can arrange a trip to the spawning river to try our luck and catch fish with our own hands.;
It is also possible to go out for mushrooms, mussels and wild berries, depending on the seasonality of maturation of a particular type of agricultural product.
We will spend the night in tents throughout the days, please take this into account.
Sleeping bags, wetsuits, wet socks and sup boards are provided absolutely free of charge.
The equipment and inventory that is provided to you for use is provided as collateral. In case of damage to the property, the deposit is refunded minus the cost of the damaged equipment at the current market value. If you don't want to use this equipment, you can bring your own.
Please note that all boat trips and hiking trips are completely dependent on weather conditions. In the presence of fog, storms and large waves, the boat does not go out to sea.

Day 7 - Departure
We are leaving for Komsomolsk-on-Amur.
You need to book your own accommodation in Komsomolsk-on-Amur and Khabarovsk before and after the expedition.
Under favorable conditions and for an additional fee, additional excursions that are not included in the mandatory type of program can be added to the program. For more information, see the "Important to know" section.

The tour includes accommodation at a transfer base in tents (2 nights) and at the main base camp on the island in glamping tents (4 nights).

The cost of the tour is 270,000 rubles/person.

The cost of the tour for single occupancy is 320,000 rubles/person. If the number of days and nights on the island is reduced due to changes in weather conditions, the cost of single accommodation will not be refunded.

Accommodation in a double room is random. If you are traveling alone, then perhaps you will be accommodated with another person — a man or a woman.

Wrangel Bay Whale Watching tour

We invite you to an unforgettable excursion to Wrangel Bay, which takes place all day and starts with an early morning departure from the island.

We will embark on a sea crossing along the picturesque Bay of Nicholas to the Bay of the Academy, enjoying the magnificent scenery along the coast.

After stopping in a secluded place where two hills form a picturesque valley with a clear mountain stream, we will have lunch over a campfire and walk around the surroundings.

Then we will continue to Wrangel Bay, where we will meet scientists involved in whale research.

We will have free time on the water to observe these majestic creatures.

After 2-3 hours of exciting adventures, we will return to our cozy island in the "Whale Harbor". Here we will be greeted with a late dinner, which will be the final chord of this amazing day, full of impressions and new discoveries.

Under the starry sky, we will be able to discuss all the emotions we have experienced and share our dreams of new adventures.

This exciting day-long adventure will begin with an early departure from the island.

Along the way to the mysterious Shantar Islands, picturesque bays, majestic landscapes and the opportunity to meet whales and killer whales in the open sea await us.

These moments will be full of amazing discoveries. During the tour, we will walk along the famous wild islands of Belichy, Severny, Sredny, Yuzhny and Maly Shantar.

Disembarkation is allowed only on Maly Shantar in Abrek Bay and on Belichy Island, and only under favorable weather conditions.

It is important to remember that the Sea of Okhotsk is a border area where border guards often patrol, and the islands themselves are located in a protected area of the national park, which requires obtaining a special permit for disembarkation.

Once we are ashore in Abrek Bay or on Belichy Island, we will have an exciting walk along the coast, explore the surroundings and have a delicious lunch outdoors.

After an eventful day full of impressions, we will return home to our island in the "Whale Harbor", filled with the desire to find ourselves in these amazing uninhabited places again.

Please note that these excursions are not a mandatory part of the program, and are conducted depending on weather conditions, group recruitment, and are paid. Departure to them is discussed with each group individually upon arrival at the main camp.
