Day 1 - Sightseeing tour of Gagarin. Visit to the Gagarin and Griboyedov house museums
09:05 Meeting in Gagarin with tourists arriving by Lastochka 715M train near the main entrance of the railway station with a guide (sign "Smolenskaya zemlya. The story is in the fates").
09:15 Sightseeing tour of Gagarin. On April 12, 1961, Yuri Alekseevich Gagarin, a native of the Gzhatsky district, was the first in the world to enter outer space. The first cosmonaut of Planet Earth, the first man in Space! In April 1968, Gzhatsk was renamed Gagarin.
10:00 Visit to the museum of the "First Flight". This unique museum, unique in its kind and dedicated to one event – the preparation and implementation of the world's first human space flight — contains rare items of space technology directly related to the flight of Yuri Gagarin.
You will see and be able to photograph: the real Sikhote-Alin meteorite; the multi-ton engine of the Vostok RD-108 launch vehicle; S. P. Korolev's desk with unique documents.
As well as the SBK-48 hearing aid camera and the simulators used by the members of the first cosmonaut squad to undergo pre-flight training, and much more.
Only in the Museum of the First Flight will you meet the amazing talking robot "Ivan Ivanovich", with whom you will make a fascinating dive into the past and learn how our ancestors imagined flights to the celestial spheres.
Visit to the House-Museum of Yuri Gagarin's school years. The future cosmonaut spent his school years in this house from 1945 to 1949. The house was moved from the village of Klushino by Yuri Gagarin's father in 1945. The recreated memorial setting takes us back to 1949, the year of Jura's departure from her native home.
Everything here introduces you to the lifestyle of the simple, hardworking Gagarin family, with family traditions that played a major role in shaping the character of the future cosmonaut. In the courtyard there is a monument to Anna Timofeevna Gagarina, the mother of the first cosmonaut.
Visit to the house-museum of Yuri Gagarin's parents. In the rooms of the house (with the exception of the decor of the hall, which was changed by A. T. Gagarina herself), the atmosphere of the time when Yuri Gagarin came here with his family and friends in the period from 1961 to 1967 has been recreated.
There are photographs on the walls, and numerous gifts presented to both Gagarin and his parents.
This is the last place in Gzhatsk that Yuri Alekseevich Gagarin visited before his death. Near the museum house, in a special glass pavilion, there is a Volga car that belonged to the first cosmonaut.

14:00 Departure to the museum-reserve "Khmelita" (Vyazemsky district, 97 km).
15:30 Visit to the Griboyedov Estate Museum. Since 1680, Khmelita has been the Griboyedov family estate. The future playwright and diplomat A.S. Griboyedov spent his childhood and adolescence here.
His observations and "hop-loving" impressions of meetings with the metropolitan and manor nobility later became one of the sources for the creation of the immortal comedy "Woe from Wit."
Today, the Griboyedov family estate is one of the largest cultural centers in Russia, the only A.S. Griboyedov Museum in the world.

Day 2 - Excursions to Przhevalskoye settlement, visits to museum houses

08:00 Departure for excursions to the village of Przhevalskoye (120 km.) On the way to Przhevalskoye, you will find a fascinating guide's story about the Gnezdovsky archaeological complex, the largest monument of the "Viking age" and the formation of the Ancient Russian state in the 10th century.
You will hear about the events that took place in Krasny Bor and the "Hitler's bunker", which is located here. You will pass through the city of Demidov, the birthplace of Yuri Nikulin, learn about the feat of Matrona Volskaya, as well as many other interesting stories.
09:40 Walking tour to glacial Lake Sapsho, one of the most famous lakes of Smolenskoye Poozerye National Park. "Baikal in miniature!" — that's what N.M. Przhevalsky called it in letters to friends.
10:00 Visit to the N.M. Przhevalsky House Museum (120 km. from Smolensk). The name of Nikolai Mikhailovich Przhevalsky occupies a special place in the brilliant constellation of Central Asian researchers.
The museum's guests find themselves in the atmosphere that surrounded Przhevalsky in the last years of his life – all the memorial rooms have been carefully recreated based on preserved archival documents.
The most precious exhibit of the museum is Przewalski's last autograph. This is an authentic piece of a wooden column of his house, on which, in the hand of Nikolai Mikhailovich, on the day of departure on his last trip, it is written in red pencil: "August 5, 1888. Goodbye, Sloboda!"
11:20 Stop at the enclosure with Przewalski's horses. Feeding the horses (prepare carrots or apples in advance).
For lovers of sweets: in the village At Przhevalskoe, you can buy a branded Sapsho cake and cakes that are said to be "from Soviet childhood!"
11:50 Departure to Rudnya (87 km).
13:20 Stop in Mikulino village. Visit to the memorial to the Mining Heroes. Mikulino is an ancient village, in the XIV-XV centuries the city of Mikulin. The village and its surroundings have a very rugged terrain with numerous lakes of the Mikulin group, formed after the retreat of the Valdai glacier.
On one of the hills we will see the Church in honor of the Life-Giving Trinity, built in the first half of the 19th century as the Church of St. Anthony.
The panorama of Lake Glybai opens from the hill. In the 9th‒11th centuries, the famous trade route "from the Varangians to the Greeks" passed through the Mikulinsky Lake, from here the portages to the Dnieper began.
14:20 Lunch at a cafe in Rudnya.
15:30 Visit to the M.A. Egorov House Museum in Rudnya. The authentic lifetime interior, in which our great countryman spent his last years, has been carefully preserved here.
The exhibition features the famous photograph on the dome of the Reichstag taken by war correspondent A. Morozov on May 2, 1945; a capsule with earth from the graves of Egorov and Kantary; materials about eight Heroes of the Soviet Union – natives of the Rudnyansky district; memoirs of veterans, numerous photographic materials.
16:30 Departure to Smolensk (44 km to Katyn, Smolensky district).
17:20 Visit to the Katyn Memorial Complex. The Katyn Memorial is located 20 km from the center of Smolensk, between the villages of Gnezdovo and Katyn, on the site of the tragic events of the 1930s and 1940s, the victims of which were citizens of two countries - the Soviet Union and Poland.
The memorial complex consists of two parts: the territory where residents of the Smolensk region who became victims of political repression are buried, and the military cemetery where Polish prisoners of war are buried.
18:00 Transfer to the railway station.
