Before the revolution, the provincial city of Kazan was associated with the acquisition of a miraculous icon — the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. By the decree of Ivan the Terrible, the Bogoroditsky Monastery grew up under the walls of the Kremlin. 4 centuries will pass and the miraculous icon of the Virgin, deeply revered by Orthodox Christians, will be lost.
