Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Arrival in Murmansk. Welcome dinner. The "hunt" for the Northern Lights

    Welcome to the Kola Peninsula!

In the next 4 days, you will have an eventful trip to the far north, where real Arctic adventures await you.

We recommend arriving in Murmansk before 17:00 in order to comfortably check into the hotel and have time for a welcome dinner. The transfer is not included in the price of the tour.

Guests can get to Murmansk by taxi or public transport on their own. Guests can also book an individual shuttle for an additional fee.

We will meet in the city center (the exact time and address of the meeting will be announced by the coordinators the day before) with other participants of the tour, we will go to a welcome dinner.

At the welcome dinner, you will meet the guide, ask any questions you may have, and, of course, begin your acquaintance with the Kola North with a tasting of local cuisine.

We are going to hunt for the northern Lights with a favorable forecast.

The program includes two trips for the aurora without additional charges as part of the tour, which increases the chance of seeing it by up to 98%. The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, and their appearance cannot be guaranteed. If we do not see the Northern Lights during our trips to the "hunt" for the northern lights, then there are no discounts or refunds.

The gathering takes place in the center of Murmansk.

Approximate time of the training camp: 20:00-22:00. The exact time and place of the training camp will be announced by the coordinator the day before. Please do not be late and arrive 10 minutes before the start.

Let's move out! The aurora hunt will take 3-5 hours, as long as it takes to fully enjoy the spectacle. The glow can appear at any moment, so keep your eyes open. Photography against the background of the aurora is enabled: first, group shots, then each participant will have the opportunity to take a personal photo.

While admiring the natural show, you will be warmed up with hot tea with treats: sweets, chocolate and cookies. After the tour, you will be taken to your place of residence in Murmansk. The approximate time of return to Murmansk is 00:00-02:00 at night.

You will receive the photos within 3-4 days after the end of the tour in the format of a link to Yandex.Disk or other cloud storage.

I’m absolutely delighted with “Big Country” and its team. True professionals work there. Thanks to your help, I’ve already visited Altai, Lake Baikal, North Ossetia, and the Russian North! Thank you for your amazing work. Working with people is never easy, but you always manage to find common ground with your clients and help resolve any issue that comes up. Keep up the great work!!!

It was a very interesting and eventful tour with plenty of great food experiences along the way. Unfortunately, the weather didn’t cooperate, so we weren’t able to see the Northern Lights or fully experience Teriberka, but the trip to Kirovsk turned out to be absolutely wonderful and full of memorable impressions. Our guide Olga was energetic, enthusiastic, and truly passionate about showing and telling us as much as possible! Overall, we definitely did not regret taking this trip.
