Itinerary

Day 1 - Sightseeing tour of Perm. The House of Meshkov
Arrival in Perm.
Group transfer to the hotel (there are conditions, see the “Important to know" section).
Early check-in with breakfast on the day of arrival is possible.
Lunch (when ordering a meal package).
Sightseeing tour of Perm. Perm is an ancient city on the Kama River, founded in 1723.
The first mention of Perm is found in the "Tale of Bygone Years" of 1113, and it received the status of a city by decree of Catherine II in 1780.
Today Perm is the industrial and cultural center of the Urals, the fourth largest city in Russia.
During the tour, you will see the historical center, the Kama Embankment, the Opera House, famous city monuments and learn about the formation of the city as the most important transport hub of the Trans-Siberian Railway.
Excursion to the Meshkov House (The main building of the Perm Museum of Local Lore).

Day 2 - Belogorsky St. Nicholas Monastery. A master class on creating a Vyazovsky gingerbread
Breakfast at the hotel.
Transfer to the Belogorsky St. Nicholas Missionary Monastery.
Guided tour of the monastery. The Belogorsky Monastery is located on the top of the White Mountain (453 m above sea level) and is known as the "Perm Athos".
It was founded in 1891 in memory of the miraculous rescue of Tsarevich Nicholas Alexandrovich (the future Emperor Nicholas II) from a fatal assassination attempt in Japan.
The main church, the Holy Cross Cathedral, built in the Russian Byzantine style, is the largest in the diocese (with a capacity of more than 5,000 people).
Pilgrims can visit the holy spring and font.
The donation to the Belogorsky Monastery is additionally paid, if desired, 200 rubles.
Free time to visit the holy spring and font.
Transfer to Kungur.
Lunch (when ordering a meal package).
City tour. Kungur was founded in the 17th century at the confluence of the Kungur River with the Iren. Its name comes from the Turkic word "unkur" — "cave".
The city received its status in 1781, and after the appearance of the Siberian Tract, it became an important trading center. Large fairs were held here, ancient merchant houses and churches have been preserved, reflecting the wealth and taste of the locals.
A master class on creating an Elm gingerbread.
Vyazovsky gingerbread is baked according to an old Russian recipe, revived by the founders of the gingerbread business in the city of Kungur. In the old days, the whole family took part in making gingerbread.
Attention! Only in January, instead of a master class, there is a unique opportunity to visit the Museum of merchant history in Kungur with an atmospheric tea party in a tea shop of the early 20th century.
Return to Perm.

Day 3 - Stone City
Breakfast at the hotel.

Transfer to the Stone Town.
Guided tour of the park. A unique natural park created by wind and time.
According to the Ural legend, it was once a real city, turned into stone by a sorcerer. The rocks took the forms of animals, gates and towers.
Here you can see the famous remains — "Stone Gate", "Turtle", "Seal" and "Feathered Guardian".
During the walk you will visit the "streets" and "squares" of the Stone City, learn about its secrets and visit the source of power at the highest point.

Return to Perm.

Day 4 - Khokhlovka Architectural and Ethnographic Museum. Ilyinsky Regional Museum of Local Lore

Transfer to Khokhlovka.
Excursion to the Architectural and Ethnographic Museum of Khokhlovka. The Khokhlovka Museum is the first open—air museum of wooden architecture in the Urals. It was opened to the public on September 17, 1980.
The unique museum ensemble is located on the picturesque shore of the Kama River, 43 km from Perm near the village of Khokhlovka.
Today, Khokhlovka unites 21 monuments of wooden architecture of the late 17th and second half of the 20th centuries, which represent the best examples of traditional and iconic architecture of the peoples of the Kama Region.
Transfer to the village of Ilyinsky.
Excursion to the Ilyinsky Regional Museum of Local Lore (Stroganov estate).
The village of Ilyinskoye has been the capital of the Permian possessions of the Counts Stroganov since the 18th century. Fairs were held here, a theater and a library operated.
Founded in 1921, the museum is located in the building of the Main Administration of the Perm Estate, built in 1805.
The exhibition features rare objects of Stroganov icon painting, items with the painting "Royal Rose" and antique household items.
Lunch (when ordering a meal package).

I'm so glad I chose the 'Across the Expanses of Perm the Great' tour in July 2024. It was a high-quality, engaging, and thoughtfully designed journey through the entire Perm region. The trip was full of fascinating discoveries: ancient monasteries, unique museums, the distinctive Permian animal style and wooden deities, the history of salt production and the Stroganovs in the Urals, and much more. The natural beauty of Parma was breathtaking: dense forests, countless rivers, mountains, and even an ice cave. The hotels were comfortable, and the breakfasts and lunches were tasty, often featuring elements of local cuisine. Traveling in a small group made the experience even more enjoyable, after all, it's usually seasoned travelers who venture to the Perm region. One special moment was when we all got to bake and taste traditional gingerbread made from an old recipe, for many of us, it was a first.
