Itinerary

  • Day 1 - V.M. Shukshin Museum-Reserve, Mount Piket and Sinyukha

Meeting in Barnaul: airport, railway station, city hotels (Barnaul/Altai).

Departure from Barnaul at 09:00 (local time).

In case of arrival at Gorno-Altaysk airport, a group transfer is provided to Gorno-Altaysk – Srostki (65 km).

Meeting with the guide and the group in Srostki village from 11:30 to 13:00.

Barnaul – Srostki transfer (by car – 220 km): a comfortable transfer is accompanied by a change of scenery outside the window, where spacious meadows give way to soft waves of hills.

On the way: a medical stop and a light breakfast in a cafe.

Srostki is a quiet village on the legendary Chuisky highway, which gave the world the famous Vasily Makarovich Shukshin: the world of the heroes of his books, films and stories comes to life here – vivid characters recognizable by every fan of the talented actor, director and writer.

You will take a tour of one of the expositions of the All-Russian Memorial Museum-Reserve named after V.M. Shukshin (entrance ticket, extra charge), immerse yourself in the atmosphere of childhood of the great master of words and cinema, going through the pages of life.

The trip will be completed by a walking tour to the monument of the famous countryman, installed on the peak of Mount Piket.

From here, a large–scale All-Russian festival in memory of the writer is held annually - "Shukshin Readings in Altai", which opens up a magnificent panorama of one of the most cinematic corners of the region.

Having come up here, it is impossible to resist the thought that the thoughtful statue seems to be immersed in reflections on new plots and characters of its future stories.

Srostki – Manzherok transfer (by car – 100 km).

Getting to know the resort: what is the mysterious Manzherok – the very corner of Altai, sung by the melodious voice of Edita Piekha?

This is not just a village and a luxury resort of the same name, attracting outdoor enthusiasts, but also an amazing natural space.

    The "SUN" version:

Those who wish to enjoy the breathtaking panoramic view will be able to climb to the top of Malaya Sinyukha Mountain on a comfortable ski lift (optional, for an additional fee).

The cabin windows offer stunning views of the mighty Altai mountain range, the surface of the mirror lake and the majestic ribbon of the Katun River, sparkling among the green expanses.

This incredible landscape involuntarily makes you exclaim: "Hello, Altai!".

Transfer Manzherok – SEZ shopping mall "Biryuzovaya Katun" (car – 20 km).

Accommodation in the Altai Nomad ethno-glamping is a place where you can immerse yourself in the authentic atmosphere of nomadic culture and authenticity, while maintaining a modern lifestyle and comfort.

Cozy yurts are spread out among the majestic expanses of Altai, surrounded by the emerald greenery of mountains stretching into the sky.

The morning begins here with the gentle chirping of birds, the purest sounds of mountain air and the scent of flowering herbs.

You feel the freedom of every breath, enjoy the silence, which is broken only by a light breeze.

Every moment is filled with peace and quiet.

    Supper.

"Altai bedtime story: Your predictions": in a close environment around a campfire, we will share and predict what expectations or transformations await us on this journey, we will consolidate the effect with the rite of "feeding the Fire" in the style of the Altai tradition "choy-choy".

The tour was well organized, and our guide Elena was very professional, she did a great job compensating for some shortcomings in the program. For example, the itinerary included a maral farm, but there were no marals to be seen. At Denisova Cave, there were no archaeologists available to speak with, which was a bit disappointing. After climbing the "Devil's Finger" rock, I started to question the difficulty level of the hike, it seemed more challenging than expected. Also, I think seat assignments on the bus should either be fixed or rotated daily, so that people sitting at the back don’t end up with a diminished experience throughout the trip.
