Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Arrival in Gorno-Altaysk. The first acquaintance with the Altai Mountains

    Group meeting, acquaintance with the guide. 

    Transfer to the place of accommodation, check-in at the cabins. 

    The first acquaintance with the Altai Mountains will begin with a visit to the village - a traditional dwelling, where we will be immersed in the culture and way of life of the Altai people. 

    An experienced cultural speaker will tell us about the traditions and customs, as well as about the national cuisine of Altai. 

    During the tour, we will enjoy the unique art of throat singing - kai, which is an integral part of Altai culture. 

    This ancient and fascinating musical genre will allow you to better understand and feel the soul of the Altai people. 

    We will conclude our first acquaintance with tasting dishes of national cuisine prepared using local products. 

    Next, we will check into the base or guest house to relax a little. 

    After the rest, we will go on a sightseeing tour of the “Legends of Chemal”, during which we will walk over the suspension bridge over the Katun to the Church of St. John the Theologian on the island of Patmos.

    Next, we will walk along the Goat Path, which runs between the island of Patmos and the confluence of the Katun and Chemal rivers. 

    The trail runs along the edge of a rocky cliff on Beshpek Mountain, offering stunning views of the confluence of the rivers and the Katun River flowing between the rocky ledges known as the "Sartakpai Gate". 

    You can also see the two-humped Camel Mountain from the trail. 

    After the tour, we will visit the fair of Altai and Mongolian goods and souvenirs, where we can buy natural products of Altai: honey, herbal teas, pine nuts and others. 

    Impressions of the day: ethno-village; throat singing; national cuisine; St. John the Theologian Church on the island.Patmos; the confluence of Chemal and Katun.

The tour provides accommodation in cabins or rooms at economy class camp sites: a well-equipped shower and toilet in a separate bathroom block on the territory of the camp site or on the floor, if it is a guest house.

Bed linen and a small towel are provided. Hair dryers and hygiene kits are not available everywhere. It is possible to order a sauna at all camp sites; it is paid on the spot - from 2000 rubles per hour, at least 2 hours. Bath towels are not provided everywhere, we recommend taking them with you.

If desired, and for an additional fee, you can stay in a room alone or in more comfortable conditions. Three or four-bed accommodation is also available on request, if you are traveling with family or friends. You need to inform the manager about this in advance, before signing the contract.

A studio room of 15 sq.m. with a bathroom made of cedar beams, a separate entrance to the room from the street, its own terrace with a table and chairs.

  • summer hiking comfortable things (several T-shirts, shorts, trousers, socks, a sun hat - a cap or a bandana); 
  • shoes – comfortable, well-worn boots or sneakers, slates or sandals for relaxation; 
  • a small backpack for things on excursions, walks (to put a jacket, a water bottle, a first aid kit, etc.); 
  • personal hygiene items, a small towel;
  • individual first aid kit, individual medicines, in the presence of chronic diseases;
  • 0.5 l bottle under water;
