The first acquaintance with the Altai Mountains will begin with a visit to the village, a traditional dwelling where we will immerse ourselves in the culture and way of life of the Altai people.
An experienced cultural speaker will tell us about the traditions and customs, as well as about the national cuisine of Altai.
During the tour, we will enjoy the unique art of throat singing — kai, which is an integral part of Altai culture.
This ancient and fascinating musical genre will allow you to better understand and feel the soul of the Altai people.
We will end the first acquaintance with a tasting of national cuisine prepared using local products.
Next, we will check into the base or guest house to relax a bit.
After the rest, we will go on a sightseeing tour “Legends of Chemal”, during which we will walk over the Katun suspension bridge to the Church of St. John the Theologian on the island of Patmos.
Next, we will walk along the Goat Path that runs between the island of Patmos and the confluence of the Katun and Chemal rivers.
The trail runs along the edge of a rocky cliff on Mount Beshpek, offering stunning views of the confluence of the rivers and the Katun River, which flows between rocky outcrops known as the “Sartakpai Gate".
You can also see the two-humped Camel Mountain from the trail.
After the tour, we will visit the fair of Altai and Mongolian goods and souvenirs, where we can buy natural products of Altai: honey, herbal teas, pine nuts and others.
