Itinerary

Day 1 - Meeting. Kamyshlinsky waterfall. Ethnoexcursion
Meeting of the tour participants, acquaintance with the guide and transfer to Barangol village.
Here we will take a half-hour walk along the suspension bridge over the beautiful Katun River, to the picturesque Kamyshlinsky waterfall.
A walk to the waterfall will be pleasant and refreshing.
The air is saturated with the aroma of the pine forest and has healing properties.
The waterfall itself impresses with its beauty and power.
A tourist infrastructure has been created around the waterfall, where those who wish will visit the beekeeping museum, souvenir shops, taste herbal tea and even test themselves on a trolley descent.
We will return back the same way or by motor boat (extra charge, from 700 rubles / person) along the Katun River, which will add unforgettable impressions from the “take-off” of the boat on choppy water.
After lunch, an excursion to the traditional home of the Altai people, where you can immerse yourself in the culture and way of life of the Altai people.
An experienced cultural speaker will tell you about the traditions, customs and national cuisine of Altai.
During the tour, we will enjoy the unique art of throat singing – kai.
This ancient and fascinating musical genre, which is an integral part of the national culture, allows you to better understand and feel the soul of the Altai people.
We will finish our first acquaintance with tasting dishes of national cuisine made from local products.
Then transfer to the place of accommodation.

Day 2 - Sartakpaya Valley
After breakfast, we will go on a sightseeing tour of the “Legends of Chemal”, during which we will walk over the suspension bridge over the Katun to the Church of St. John the Theologian on the island of Patmos.
Next, we will walk along the Goat Path, which runs between the island of Patmos and the confluence of the Katun and Chemal rivers.
The trail runs along the edge of a rocky cliff on Beshpek Mountain, offering stunning views of the confluence of the rivers and the Katun River flowing between the rocky ledges known as the "Sartakpai Gate".
After the tour, we will visit the fair of Altai and Mongolian goods and souvenirs, where we can buy natural products of Altai: honey, herbal teas, pine nuts and others.
Then our way lies along the Chemalsky highway along the Katun River to the Oroktoysky Bridge.
In the area of the Katun Bridge, it has a small width and the greatest depth, according to some measurements up to 70 m.
A unique place combining natural beauty, rich history and cultural heritage.
Along the way, from the observation deck of the Tolgoek plateau, we will enjoy magnificent views of the wide valley of the Katun River, the rocky ledges of its left side, the terraces of the left bank and the mountains stretching into the southern and northern distances.
On the way back, we will make a stop at the Yelandinsky threshold.

Here, the river, dividing into two parts, passes through the rock walls, creating impressive water cascades and bubbling streams.
Enjoy the magnificent views of the surrounding nature, feel the spirit of Altai, the power and energy of the bubbling Altai river.
Impressions of the day: St. John the Theologian Church on Patmos Island, “Goat Trail”, the confluence of Chemal and Katun, Orokto bridge, Teldekpen threshold, Elandinsky threshold.
Difficulty of the day: walking along the "Goat trail" about 1 km, height difference 200 m, dirt road 50 km, dust.

Day 3 - The legendary Chuisky tract
At 9:00 we vacate the rooms, have breakfast and hit the road to enjoy the scenery of the Chui tract.
According to National Geographic magazine, the road ranks fifth in the list of the most beautiful roads on the planet.
The frequent change of scenery, small walks in the most striking locations of the tract will give delight and make this day unforgettable.
We will arrive at the place of accommodation later in the evening.

Impressions of the day: the Seminsky Pass, the Chike-Taman pass, the Yalomanskaya Arc, the place of power – the confluence of the Chuya and Katuni rivers, the Katun Terraces, the old Chuisky tract.
Difficulty of the day: travel time is 9-10 hours.

Day 4 - The blue lake. Altai Mars
Breakfast and back on the road.
Today we are waiting for the most remote region of the Altai Republic with exotic landscapes similar to the neighboring territories of Mongolia.
We will stop in the Kurai steppe and enjoy the views of the glaciers of the North Chui Range, the largest in Central Asia.
Next, we will change the transport to off-road and plunge into the atmosphere of space travel in the valley of the Chagan-Uzun River.
The Martian landscapes of the tract give the impression that you are on another planet.
After lunch, we will admire the beauty of the Blue Lake on the Mena River.
Underground springs erode the silt and blue-white clay at the bottom and create bizarre drawings.
Return to the campsite, free time.
Impressions of the day: Geyser Lake, Kurai and Chui steppe, North Chui ridge, "Altai Mars".
Difficulty of the day: moving to the UAZ-loaf, 40 km of dirt road, walking with a height difference of 20 m.

Day 5 - Departure
At 8:00 we vacate the rooms, have breakfast and set off along the Chui highway on the way back.
To make the road interesting, we planned to visit several fascinating places: the archaeological complex “Adyr-Kan”, the Ilgumen threshold on the Katun River, the Ininsky sand pillars and the Tsaplinsky Bridge.
In the evening, with a lot of emotions and a lot of memories, we return to Gorno-Altaysk.
The estimated time of arrival is 17:30-18:00.
Impressions of the day: Chuisky tract, Ilgumen threshold, Ininsky sand pillars, Tsaplinsky bridge; archaeological complex "Adyr-Kan".

Bed linen and a small towel are provided. Hair dryers and hygiene kits are not available everywhere. At all camp sites it is possible to order a sauna: it is paid on the spot – from 2000 rubles per hour, at least 2 hours. Bath towels are not provided everywhere, we recommend taking them with you.
