Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Sightseeing tour of Arkhangelsk. Museum of Wooden Architecture "Malye Korely"

Meeting at the railway station or at the Arkhangelsk airport and transfer to the hotel (for an additional fee).

11:00 am Car and pedestrian sightseeing tour "Welcome to Arkhangelsk". The most attractive place in the city is considered to be the embankment of the Northern Dvina, where the tourist hits of Arkhangelsk are located: for example, the monument to Peter I, who once conceived the idea of founding an admiralty here.

You will visit Cape Pur-Navolok— the founding site of Arkhangelsk. In the Living rooms of the Courtyards, on the powerful walls of which even today one can imagine how three centuries ago trade was noisy behind them.

The guide will show and tell you about the Assumption Church, Solombala Island, the cradle of the Russian navy, and much more. Two hours of guided tour — and a lot of new impressions, knowledge about the history of Russia and the development of the Russian North, about modern life and the past of Arkhangelsk.

13:00 Traditional northern lunch in a cafe in the city.

14:00 Suburban bus tour to Russia's largest open—air museum - the Museum of Wooden Architecture and Folk Art "Malye Korely" (25 km from Arkhangelsk). The nature of the North is unique, and here we see it in all its diversity.

Majestic firs and pines, delicate grasses, dense forests and clearings, hills and lowlands, a wide horizon and an inviting distance. And against this background, the wooden architecture of the North, the simplicity of natural materials and the rigor of forms.

After the noisy and dusty city, it's easy to breathe here, the eye enjoys the natural and architectural forms, and the silence is soothing.

    Return to Arkhangelsk.

Dinner on your own. Free time.

My 4-day trip to Arkhangelsk in February 2026 left me with unforgettable memories. Many thanks to “Big Country” and to Yulia, the local coordinator in Arkhangelsk, for the excellent organization and the fascinating excursions. I was especially impressed by the beautiful northern landscapes, the variety of museums, and the warmth and hospitality of the local people. I enjoyed the trip so much that I wished I could have stayed longer.

Good afternoon! We were on the "Northern Lights Hunt" tour in Arkhangelsk from March 2 to 5. Overall, everything was very well organized, and we would especially like to thank our guide Marina for the informative excursions and her warm, caring attitude toward us throughout the trip. Unfortunately, because of the weather, we didn’t get a chance to see the Northern Lights, which was a bit disappointing. Still, thank you very much for the wonderful trip and the excellent organization.

I really enjoyed the trip—thanks to the tour managers! Everything was well-organized and clearly planned. I especially appreciated how quickly they responded to any questions I had and explained everything patiently. Even though I was traveling solo, all the excursions felt lively and engaging. It was a bit disappointing that the last tour was canceled, but I appreciated the advance notice, which gave me the chance to arrange a visit on my own. I’ll definitely recommend you!
